Chernobyl? The shrinking size of creme eggs? No, empathy. Which sounds fine actually but maybe not the way Kiri tackles it. Kiri thinks that we live in a time where empathy is seen as a weakness like asthma or being first to pull away from a handshake. But why is that? Surely what we need in these divided times is more empathy? So Kiri is off on a search to find a group of people who she struggles to empathise with, what could this mean.....? Well, it means she's spent the last year talking to non offending paedophilles on the internet. Yup, her search history is a disaster. So, come and see her make the impossible hilarious or possibly get arrested. ★★★★★ - The Independent ‘An impressive comic, making powerhouse standup from the thorniest of subjects’ - The Guardian Red Ladder Theatre Company Present SMILE CLUB Tues 31 Mar, 8pm Tickets £13.50, concessions £2 off Come on love, cheer up, it might never happen. ANDY PARSONS: HEALING THE NATION Fri 17 Apr, 7.30pm Tickets £16.50 ‘It was 24th June 2016 and I found myself contemplating a supermarket meal deal. I only wanted a sandwich and I only needed a sandwich but given that I could get a snack and a drink for only 5p more it seemed financially irresponsible not to. I had spent so long pondering the EU Referendum result from the day before that I was now in a massive rush. The lad on the till scanned the first two items no problem but the third item he couldn’t get to scan at all. I thought this is going to be a nightmare – there was a queue building up and he looked like he was going to call the supervisor. Then to his credit, he tried to scan it one more time, it wouldn’t scan – so he went ‘bip’ himself and chucked it through. And it was at that moment I thought “oh we’ll be alright as a country we will”. And we will be alright. Trust me. I’m not a politician.’ As seen on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo, Q.I. etc. - and repeated on Dave. ‘Cracking adlibbing…a joke-rich rallying call for a better Britain’ – The Guardian Matthew Linley Creative Projects in association with Action Transport Theatre and Eastern Angles Presents THE MYSTERY OF THE RADDLESHAM MUMPS By Murray Lachlan Young Wed 15 - Thu 16 Apr, 7.30pm Tickets £13.50, concessions £2 off A ‘theatrical treat’ that’s perfect for lovers of Harry Potter, Tim Burton, Lemony Snicket and The Brothers Grimm! 25
