THE CONFERENCE The Spring Conference is back! Designed to appeal to all your management team it will provide you with the latest news and key topics facing the industry. Hopefully, it will also enlighten and entertain you so you can go back to work feeling refreshed and ready for the challenges ahead with fantastic keynote speakers to inspire and enjoy. THE KEY SPEAKERS & ENTERTAINERS Linford Christie is undoubtedly Europe’s greatest ever 100m sprinter. He was the first European to run sub ten seconds and in 1993, he became the first man in history to hold the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles in the 100m. His fastest time 9.87 seconds, recorded when he won the 1993 World Championship in Stuttgart, was the European record for nearly 30 years. Linford remains one of the most decorated British athletes of all time, winning an amazing 24 medals before the end of his 17-year career. Amongst the numerous awards bestowed upon Christie was the prestigious 1993 ‘BBC Sports Personality of the Year’ and ‘European Athlete of the Year’. He has worked as a technical commentator in Athletics and has presented many sports specific programmes over the years. Linford’s success in Athletics has continued since his retirement in a coaching role, having coached a number of top athletes to success in Commonwealth, European and leading international meets as well as the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. Adrian Webster is a best-selling business author whose books include the Polar Bear Pirates, Sort Your Brain Out and Tiny Noticeable Things. Webster gained a reputation as a top motivator and team builder turning groups of everyday people into some of the most productive in the IT industry. Fuelled by a desire to gain a better understanding of what makes exceptional people tick, Adrian started to research some of the UK’s most successful people. From Police Officer to milkman and salesman to best-selling business author, Adrian’s research mixed with his real-life experiences, raw energy and a sense of humour, make Adrian an entirely original, entertaining and very popular motivational speaker. Laura Chalkley joined WorkNest in 2008, serving as an Employment Law Adviser. Now, she stands as the Head of the Partnerships Team, overseeing the company’s relationships with 15 major partner clients, and proudly manages a team of six Employment Law Advisers. As a truly seasoned and multifaceted professional, Laura’s specialisms span far and wide, with a particular affinity for the pharmacy, retail, charity, healthcare, and hair and beauty sectors. Alfie Moore is a comedian and broadcaster and until recently, was a police sergeant with Humberside Police. He entertains with insights and comical moments from nearly two decades ‘on the beat’, where dealing with everyday incidents has generated stories you just couldn’t make up! He has written and presented two series of his BBC Radio 4 comedy series ‘It’s a Fair Cop’ which engages the audience into making decisions about real dilemmas faced by police officers – with hilarious results. The show has received both public and critical acclaim. In addition to the above, we also have lots more interesting and informative topics with marketplace specialists, industry experts, motivating speakers plus a Panel Discussion featuring business leaders from laundry and hospitality sectors.
