ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: The Belair Gardens Caravan Park has been booked from Sunday 19th September - Friday morning 24th September, for those attending the Sports Camp. Daily dinner and breakfast is to be provided by parents. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation is provided by MSOTA at Belair Caravan Park, 463 Marine Terrace, Geraldton. The caravan park provides large and spacious holiday units which are self-contained and include cooking facilities and utensils. Fresh linen is also supplied. Parents and home tutors will be responsible for the supervision of students at the Belair Caravan Park at all times. On departure, please make sure that you have collected all your belongings and that the cabin is left clean and tidy. CLOTHING It is important that children wear a hat and sunscreen when participating in any and all outdoor activities. Please make sure that your children’s clothes are clearly labeled with their name. Footwear must be worn at all times. During sporting activities, enclosed shoes are essential (preferably sneakers or joggers). It is great to see our students wear the school uniform. COST There will be no cost for accommodation for the 2021 Sports Camp provided all parents attend the sessions as outlined in the timetable. Daily dinner and breakfast is to be provided by parents. Please note: If requesting accommodation and you cancel your request before the commencement or during Sports Camp, you will be liable for the full cost as invoiced by Belair Caravan Park.
MEALS Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be supplied by the school. Parents must provide food for the school day in clearly marked lunch boxes for students who have special dietary requirements (eg- food allergies). PLEASE NOTE: Parents of students who have special dietary requirements (eg: food allergies), are to provide morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch, unless discussed directly with the Principal or teacher. Parents are responsible for the supply of breakfasts and dinners for themselves and their children. WE MUST BE NOTIFIED OF ANY SPECIFIC DIETARY REQUIREMENTS MEDICATIONS: Please ensure that you have provided the school with a Management Plan from your GP/Specialist for all enrolled children attending camp who have a medical condition, eg: asthma, allergies, diabetes etc. NON CAMP ACTIVITIES In the afternoon parents may wish to take their own children to the beach. Parents will have full responsibility and full duty of care during this time. Teaching staff will not be available to supervise any aquatic activities, excluding Department of Education swimming lessons at the Aquarena. There may be supervised activities on some afternoons. PASSTAB: Parents are asked to use the schools Passtab sign in software when dropping off and picking up their children each day. This allows the school to have a record of attendance, and to use the information for contact tracing if required. The school will supply each family with a Passtab code.
STUDENTS LEAVING THE CAMP / TEACHERS’ DUTY OF CARE Each day at camp is classified as a ‘school day’ and as such, the Department of Education requires all students are under the care and supervision of their class teacher. Parents / legal guardians wishing to take their child / children from the care and supervision of the class teacher must inform the teacher, in person, that they are taking their child / children and complete the necessary forms at time of departure. The teacher must be informed, in person, by the parent / legal guardian when returning their child / children to the care and supervision of the teacher. This is a legal requirement. Thank you for your cooperation. TIMETABLE A timetable will be emailed and a hard copy will be supplied to Home Tutor's. There will be 2 duty teachers on each day(TODD - Teacher on Duty Day). Please direct any questions on the day to the TODD's, who will be wearing fluro jackets. PLEASE NOTE: Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at the Belair Gardens Caravan Park. This includes, in and around the accommodation buildings, in and around the grounds of the park as well as on any play equipment. The school staff will supervise students from 8:15 am -5:45 pm (approx.) If a parent needs to take their child offsite during the day, they must sign in and out at the front desk using the Passtab tag provided, as well as signing out with the teacher on duty. Parents will need to supervise their children on any play equipment at the Geraldton Foreshore if there is a pizza night.
