About EU Falls Festival 2021 The Centre of Expertise for Fall and Fracture Prevention Flanders is proud to announce that the next EU Falls Festival will be held from 15-16 April 2021 in the beautiful city of Leuven, located in the centre of Belgium, just 25 kilometers from Brussels, the capital of Europe. The European Falls Festival brings together leading academics, researchers, health care practitioners, clinicians, industry representatives and key stakeholders from across the globe to celebrate best practice research and innovation in the multidisciplinary study and implementation of falls prevention in older people. The overall theme of the 2021 conference will be “Falls prevention: Getting things done in practice”. We will reflect on how we get effective falls prevention strategies implemented into the daily routine. During the conference, the following keynote themes will be presented "Technology and falls", "Cognitive decline and falls" and "Medication related fall risk". In addition, eminent speakers on topics such as “Sarcopenia and falling” will give plenary lectures. The EU Falls Festival also wants to encourage participation and advancement of young researchers through for example reduced entrance rates and prizes for best oral and poster presentations. We are also happy to announce that networking will be encouraged through our social program.
