ABOUT GIRLS ON THE RUN Girls on the Run is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. We are dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Our programs are designed to enhance every girl’s social, mental and physical health and behaviors with a fun curriculum that creatively integrates running. Our trained volunteer coaches provide girls a safe, trauma-sensitive space to learn valuable life lessons that include coping when things get difficult, demonstrating care for self and others, identifying values and so much more. GOTR5K GOTR 5K PROGRAMS Physical activity is woven into our program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health. At the end of each season, all the girls participate in a Girls on the Run 5K event together. This celebratory, non-competitive event is the culminating experience of the curriculum. Completing the 5K gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when the girls realize that even the seemingly impossible IS possible. The Spring 2022 GOTR 5K is tentatively scheduled for June 4th at Rockland Lake State Park. More details will be provided.
