What is the Seedling Challenge? Dandelion Time is challenging businesses in our community to raise as much money as they can from a £50 "seedling" investment over a 3-month period. The funds raised will help us to support vulnerable children in Kent overcome the challenges they face. Take the challenge and become a Dandelion Time 2023 Seedling Challenge Champion! Who: A team of any size When: Anytime from March 1st 2023 until May 31st 2023 How: We loan you £50 - it's up to you how you grow it Founded in 2003, Dandelion Time is a nature-based charity that transforms the lives of children struggling with the effects of trauma. Children spend time with animals and crafts to overcome emotional difficulties, grow in confidence and begin to love and trust again. Every year we help over 130 children and families to rebuild their lives, across our three rural sites in Maidstone, Ashford and Shorne. Spring is a time for new beginnings and the perfect chance to come together to take on a new challenge. Help provide vital support for children in our community and have fun with your colleagues along the way! HOW BIG A POT CAN YOU GROW... FROM £50 SEED MONEY?
Why take part? Positive PositivePR: PR:The campaign will be promoted across our website and social channels, as well as coverage within the local press Increase Increase brand awareness: awareness: By linking with an established local charity! You’ll have the opportunity to engage with other local businesses in our community and build your network Celebratetogether: Celebrate together: All teams will be invited to our ‘Seedling Celebration’ on Wednesday 19th July (5-7pm) at our magical site in West Farleigh. The event will recognise our wonderful community and will include drinks, nibbles and prizes. Prizes include 'Most Fun Event', 'Most Creative Fundraising Idea', 'Business Community Award' and 'Seedling Champion' When I first turned up I saw the guinea pigs and thought…yes…this is my place, this is my home. Stroking the donkeys made me feel calm. The best 10 weeks of my life was here at Dandelion Time - Child £750 Craft equipment. Creative hands-on crafts allow children to build confidence in their own abilities How could your £2,000 fundraising 4 months of family transport to Dandelion Time. Without it many vulnerable children wouldn’t be able to attend our sessions help? £3,000 A 10-week placement for a child to help rebuild their lives
Fundraising ideas Not sure where to start? We’ve pulled together some ideas to help you get started. As long as your fundraising activities are safe and legal, you can be as creative as you like! Get musical: Organise a Buskathon at your place of work! Entertain colleagues and visitors alike and boost your fundraising by asking suppliers and customers to sponsor you! Or host a Battle of the Bands evening or Karaoke night Protectour Protect ourplanet: Planet: Host a sponsored litter pick around your offices, local park or beach. Spend some time in nature and do something great for your local environment Quiz Quiz Night: night: Invite colleagues, suppliers and customers to form a team and join a quiz, either in person or online Put Put your your Walking walkingBoots bootsOn: on: Hold a team walking challenge in and around Kent and use the Seedling amount for the energy boosting snacks. and get sponsorship Coronation party: Throw a party or BBQ at your offices in the first week of May and use the Coronation Party: seedling money for food and drink You may choose to hold all your fundraising on one day or you can hold various activities over the three-month period Use £50 seedling funding to buy car wash materials Car wash generates £200 profit Invest that profit used to hire an exercise bike for an office Sponsored Ride Bike ride generates £540 profit Invest that profit to buy ingredients for a Supper Club Supper Club generates £1100 in profit
