Mercy McAuley High School - Week of 2/18/2019

Attention students taking AP exams this spring!
AP Exam money is due to counseling o ce by March 1. $94 per exam, check made out to Mercy
McAuley High School. The money must be placed in an envelope with the student's name and the
name of the exam(s) she is taking.

The Three River's Women's Club Scholarship
The Three Rivers Women’s Club is offering a scholarship to a qualifying female who is a senior in high
school and is pursuing a college education. This is a one time, one year $1,500.00 scholarship.
Applicant must be a resident of Miami Township, Hamilton County. Ohio. Please contact Candi Fern at
513-922-1968 to receive an application form for this scholarship. There will be applications available in
the counseling o ce as well. The deadline for submission of a completed application and required
information is Friday, March 29, 2019.

Award Program-Local!
All application materials must be submitted in hardcopy in one complete package via U.S.P.S. by
Thursday, April 4, 2019.
     This award encourages civic awareness.
     Five $1000 awards will be presented.
     One page essay, application, and a letter of recommendation required.

Fairfield Community Foundation Scholarships-Applications at

The Fair eld Community Foundation is pleased to announce two scholarship opportunities for
students who live in Fair eld or Fair eld Township.
Fair eld Women Scholarship: The Fair eld Community Foundation invites area high school
graduating women who live in Fair eld or Fair eld Township to apply for two Fair eld Women
Scholarships. Fair eld Women is honored to award TWO, one-time scholarships of $1,500 each to
college bound women. The application deadline is Friday, April 12 by 2 p.m. Student applicants shall
be females graduating from high school in the year 2019. They must reside in Fair eld or Fair eld
Township. Their diploma may be from any public, private, technical school, or home school.
Applications can be found at fair eldcommunityfoundation.org.

Four Seasons Garden Club Scholarship: The Four Seasons Garden Club Scholarship is offering a
$1,500 scholarship to be awarded to a male or female 2019 graduate from area high schools (public,
private, technical school or home school) who is enrolling to study in an area connected with
horticulture or related elds, such as Conservation, Nature and Beauti cation, Landscape Design or
Landscape Contraction, Commercial Florist, or Floral Arts. The student selected may attend a college
or university, technical or trade school. The scholarship is open to graduates who reside in Fair eld or
Fair eld Township. The application deadline is Friday, April 12 by 2:00 p.m. Applications can be

Greenhills Forest Park Kiwanis Club College Scholarship Opportunity
Class of 2019:The Greenhills Forest Park Kiwanis Club is offering a scholarship competition to area
high school seniors residing in the Winton Woods school district. The scholarship awards are $2,000.
Eligibility requirements and directions for completing are included on the application which can be
picked up at the counseling o ce or is posted in Blackboard (Community>Counseling News). Deadline
to apply is April 5, 2019.

First Commonwealth Bank Scholarship Program
Application can be accessed at:

     500 word or less essay and 3.0 GPA or better required.

Anthony Munoz Foundation Scholarship

Deadline to apply is May 1, 2019. Multiple $20,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2019. The award
shall be renewable only if the recipient(s) meets eligibility and performance requirements as stated in
the application. Based partly on nancial need, gpa, and an essay based on overcoming adversity.

QuestBridge 2019 College Prep Scholars Program
Full scholarships to summer programs at highly selective colleges and universities.

UC to host RevolutionUC (A Student Hackathon!)
RevolutionUC is a perfect place for both those that are new to or well experienced in computer
programming to have a chance to work on a project of their choosing for 24 hours. Many students win
prizes for their nished projects and show them off to prospective colleges and employers.
What is a hackathon???
A hackathon is a weekend event where students are encouraged to step
out of their comfort zones while developing innovative tech applications for
the sake of learning and problem-solving. At UC, the hackathon focuses on
bringing together college and high school students in Ohio and the midwest for
a weekend of learning, collaboration, and innovation. RevolutionUC is a
fantastic learning and social experience for students of all experience levels.
This year, RevolutionUC is scheduled for March 2nd and 3rd.

Careers in Media Internship
The Careers in Media Internship is designed to provide hands on experience to minority high school
students with an interest in the media industry.
     A founding organization is WCPO 9 ON Your Side.
     Professional training in Writing, Interviewing, Dressing for Success, Business Etiquette, Public
     Speaking, College Planning and more.
     Unpaid.
     4 weeks in summer, 10 hours per week.
     Also, will be encouraged to attend a 4 day workshop at Ohio University.

Junior Family College Planning Workshops coming in March.
Dear Class of 2020 and parents. You are invited and strongly encouraged to register to attend a
Junior Family College Planning Workshop which will be hosted by school counselors. There are three
dates and times to choose from:
March 5th at 3:30 PM
March 20th at 7:30 PM
March 21st at 7:30 AM

At each workshop we will be covering important information about college visits, application
procedures and timelines, college nancial aid, and more. Each workshop features the same
presentation so you only need to register for one. All families will receive a folder packed with college
planning resources. The workshops last approximately one hour.
