About the Institute The SSB Academy Bhopal thrives to achieve excellence in the field of training and believes in making intelligent, professional
and dedicated set of officers who can serve the country with the sense of selflessness. The surroundings of the SSB Academy
Bhopal provide an ideal setting for the indoor and outdoor training activities. This elite and prestigious institution of learning is
mainly conducting the Basic Training of directly recruited Assistant Commandants and promotional courses for Officers up to
the rank of DIG. In addition to this Commando Courses, Border Management courses and special courses for other Police
Forces are also being conducted at this Academy.

Climatic Condition During summer season temperature goes up to 45ºC and it becomes hot and humid in the monsoon season. During winter it
remains cold & dry.
Communication/ By Air The Raja Bhoj Airport near satellite suburb Bairagarh has flights to most of the major cities in India.
How to reach?
By Train Bhopal Junction Railway Station is the largest and most important railway station in the city. Being on the main
North-South line it is connected by rail to all parts of the country except North-Eastern states.
By Road National Highway 12 passes through Bhopal which connects it to Jabalpur in the East and Jaipur in the West.
National Highway 17 connects Bhopal to Sagar in the East and Dewas in the West. State Highway 17 connects the
city with Indore.
Clothing & Winter clothing will be required from November to February and normal clothing during March to Oct.

About the Institute Gwaldam is located in between Almora and Chamoli Districts of Uttarakhand. Gwaldam is located at 30.2ºN
79.59ºE. It has an average elevation of 1,940 meters (6,364 feet) above MSL in the lap of the Himalayas.
It is about 20 km far from Baijnath, capital of medieval Katyuri kings and 25 km far from Kulsari, the famous
camp station of Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. Courses on CI&JW/IS Duty Course/Mountaineering/
Commando /Identification & Handling of Explosive (IHE)/ Mountain Terrain Biking are being run by this
institution.

Climatic Condition Generally cold throughout the year. The temperature during summer varies between 10ºC to 24ºC and during
winter the temperature varies from 17ºC to -05ºC. Very often Gwaldam experiences snow fall during winter.
Communication/ How to reach? By Air Nearest Air Port is Pant Nagar (240 Km) & Jollygrant-Dehradun (310 Km). Besides, there is a
Helipad at Kunila Campus at Gwaldam.
By Train Kathgodam is a nearest railway station at a distance of 200 Km and Rishikesh is approximately
250 Km.
By Road By Bus/Taxi from Kathgodam/Haldwani up to Gwaldam. In case the participants reach
Kathgodam during odd hours, they can report to the the Transit Camp Kathgodam behind
Chadha Building at a distance about 200 Yds.
Clothing & Equipment Trainees are required to carry sufficient warm clothings as per the season along with the uniform kit items.

About the Institute The Centralized Training Centre (CTC) SSB Sapri is conducting BRTC of GD & Non-GD cadres and various
other training courses on Motor Transport/ Office Procedure/SO(QM)/HC(QM) and promotional course of
HC(MT)/(Workshop) personnel.
