CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!... and thank you for considering the Sands Hotel to hold your celebrations Our graceful boutique hotel offers a luxurious, stylish and contemporary venue for your wedding on one of the UK’s most beautiful stretches of coastline. The hotel’s design nods both to it’s Victorian heritage and it’s surroundings, with serene shades of pastel blue, stone and sand throughout creating a tranquil sanctuary overflowing with indulgent touches. No matter what time of year you would like to hold your wedding, the Sands Hotel offers a chic venue that combines the wild beauty of refined, modern elegance and victorian charm. Our hotel can accomodate wedding ceremonies, blessings and receptions, hosted in our function room or Bay restaurant with views looking out onto the pristine blue flag beaches of Margate Sands, as well as a private roof terrace where guests can sip Champagne with far reaching views across the sea. We can accommodate 56 seated guests for wedding breakfast and 80 guests for hot and cold buffet. We can also accommodate larger weddings with our exclusive hire package for up to 180 guests. We also have 20 individually designed en suite bedrooms that can be hired out to you and your guests at competitive prices or included in some of our packages. At the start of the planning process you will be appointed with your own Wedding Coordinator, who will help with the organisation of your special day at Sands. With our expertise and a beautiful venue we will ensure your wedding day a worry-free, memorable and a thoroughly romantic experience.
SOME USEFUL ADVICE... One of the most important days of your lives, knowing where to start and making those important decisions can be a little daunting. So here’s our tips to help you plan your wedding... TOP TIP: Set up a dedicated wedding email address to keep all of those important details together! 1. What’s important to you both? Sit down with your partner and decide what’s really important and where can be a little flexible! If capturing the day with a fantastic photographer is top of the list - budget for it. If your heart isn’t set on a ten tier, gold leaf wedding cake - rethink it. Knowing what you really want and what is less important will help decide your wedding budget and will be a great starting point when it comes to planning your big day! 2. Perfection vs. Reality Don’t get caught up in trying to achieve perfection. Once you know what is important to you both, focus on those things. Along the way things may go wrong but don’t worry... there is always a solution! So don’t sweat over trying to make the tiniest of details perfect - a little imperfection is far more realistic! 3. Take your time Life is pretty hectic with work and life commitments, adding into the mix of planning such an important day can become a little stressful - so take your time! Choose a realistic time frame and set yourself acheivable goals. Work through everything together and don’t rush those important decisions. 4. It’s all about you! Your wedding day is THE prefect way to show your guests who you truly are... so make it personal! There are so many ways to add those unique little touches that show you off as a couple. Think about your favourite music, the flavour of your cake or the guest favours and choose things that are a reflection of you both. Your wedding day should be an exciting story about the two of you! And finally.. 5. Take it all in After all that planning - it’s time to enjoy yourselves! Do not think about what could have been or any of the hiccups along the way! Our menus showcase seasonal and locally sourced produce for all occasions, whether you’re looking for a light lunch or celebratory dinner; whilst our elegant afternoon tea and special dining events are the perfect excuse to treat yourself. Sands Hotel bar offers locally brewed beers, freshly prepared cocktails and wide selection of spirits. How to Find Us By Road Margate has excellent road links from London via the M2 Motorway. If you’re travelling from the continent you can drive straight onto the Eurotunnel train at Calais and in just 35 minutes you’ll arrive in Folkestone. From Folkestone it is less than a 1 hour drive to Thanet on the A20 and A256. Parking The hotel can offer parking permits in a public car park which need to be pre-booked with the hotel. On-street car parking, payable by meter, is also available. Both are very close to the hotel. By Train The new High Speed 1 train service, travelling at up to 140mph, can whisk you from London St Pancras to Margate in a mere 80 minutes. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from Margate Railway Station. There are also frequent trains between both London Victoria and London Charing Cross direct to Margate.
