WHAT’S ON THIS WEEKEND – 10th January 2020 – Page 1 of 7 WHAT’S ON THIS WEEKEND IN ECHUCA MOAMA AND DISTRICT EVENTS ON THROUGHOUT WEEK January 10-11 Echuca Moama Artists “Something Different” Exhibition Echuca Moama Artists present, “Something Different”- an Exhibition by Ray Hill, noted Plein Air Artist from Kialla, which will be showing in the Alton gallery until January 25th. There are two components to this exhibition - paintings of Australia at war, and vignettes of life from Ray’s travels in Australia and overseas. Friday 10am- 2.30pm, Saturday 10am - 1pm, or by Appointment. Free Entry Contact: 0439 460 690 January 10-12 14th Girgarre Moosic Muster The friendliest and most affordable acoustic festival along the Murray River! More than 50 workshops, jams and singing opportunities, bush dance, public concerts in evenings, open mikes galore, kids’ muster, instrument loans, plus farmers’ market, food and fun. All genres, including bluegrass, folk, country, blues, Celtic, pop, gospel and contemporary. Wednesday to Sunday, 8th – 12th January, 2020 from 9am till late each day at the Girgarre Town Hall (air- conditioned), 9 Morgan Crescent, Girgarre (35 km south-east of Echuca) All music activities free. Locally sourced tasty treats and thirst-quenching, refreshing drinks will be served all day. Treat yourself with a selection of art craft and market stalls to shop from. With an assortment of roving performers and entertainers before the main stage tribute band attraction, we have something for everyone! Tribute Bands for each day are: 80's Rewind, Top 80's Hits on Friday 10th January; Inxsive, INXS Tribute Show on Saturday 11th January; and Rhiannon, Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show on Sunday 12th January. Cinema Pop Up will show a different movie each night and will feature bean beds, popcorn, snacks and a bar. Gates open at 7pm each night, book online for free kids tickets! Featured Movies are: Toy Story 4 on 9th January; Bridesmaids on 10th January; Aladdin on 11th January; Pets 2 on 12th January. Book online for free kids tickets at January 10-16 Fishing the Murray River Exhibition at Echuca Historical Society Fishing the Murray River Exhibition look at the history of Murray River Fishing, from Aboriginal fish traps to the commercial industry and recreational fishing of today. The exhibition will feature photographs, stories and memorabilia centered around any creature with scales and gills. The exhibition is on show until 30th March 2020. Echuca Historical Society is open daily from 10am to 2pm. Contact: 03-54801325 January 10-16 Kyabram Town Hall Gallery Exhibition The exhibition ‘Capturing the Decades: 1880 to 2000’ Design, Fabric and Construction – Putting Country Women’s Fashion at the forefront is on at the Kyabram Town Hall Gallery from Saturday 19th October to February 2020. Entry to this exhibition is $8 adults, $6 kids. Daily 10am to 4pm (except Sundays). Also Showing currently is Share if You Agree, new works by Splinter Contemporary Artists which will be on display until February 2020. In the community gallery the current exhibition is ‘On Identity’ exploring the theme of identity which will be showing until 31st January. Bluey and Lizzie are our Eastern Blue Tongue Lizards who love leaving their tank for a pat and to show off their very blue tongues. Our Murray River Short Neck Turtles Terry and Myrtle love to meet children – take home a paper cut out turtle to decorate or sit down and colour it next to Terry and Myrtle. They’ll see our animals up-close and speak with our keepers about their jobs and experience. This program is suitable for children aged between 8 and 12. Sessions run from 9am-1pm and cost $70 per child which includes morning tea and lunch. At 9am you will begin a peaceful 1 hour yoga session with Lea, right in front of our tranquil billabong. Surrounded by giant gumtrees and wildlife. On completion of your class, you can refuel with a tasty Brekky roll and a tea or coffee. All freshly made, brewed and supplied by us! The cost for this is just $30 per person with 100% (YEP 100%) of sales going to the national bushfire relief!! Payment is to be made on the day (cash preferred) here at the winery.
