Congratulations...
on your engagement. Planning your wedding is a very special time for you and one that
should be exciting and fun and filled with beautiful memories. We would like the opportunity to host
your wedding and reception at the historic Calderwood Hall Guest House.
Owing to her rich and diverse history, Calderwood has a heritage and a presence, and yet,
because she was also a family home, she is extremely welcoming. Many of our past guests have
commented on the relaxed atmosphere and that they have enjoyed the time they have spent
with us. We are not ostentatious and formal, but rather like your favourite grandmother; elegant
yet warm ...and a critical part of any successful occasion.
The venue allows for personal styles to be reflected in the reception. You will not be limited by
what we can do, but rather what you want to make of this special day. You may want something
simple and stylish, or a wedding with no expense spared. In these modern times, there is no right
or wrong! So whether or not you stick to tradition or personalise your wedding to suit the occasion,
it’s all just a matter of choice. We are here to advise and help make it a memorable day for you,
your family and friends.
We are only too happy to share our extensive knowledge in organising weddings, and look forward
to being part of your special day- an important milestone - the start of your lives together.

Everything You Need & More...
The Edwardian Calderwood Hall Manor is the ideal backdrop for your very special occasion. The
inviting Jardine Function Centre seats 250 guests comfortably whilst still allowing for a dance floor.
Two large five metre stack-back doors lead onto a walkway alongside the koi pond. Another set of
stack-back doors lead off the venue onto a large outdoor deck area overlooking the beautiful view
of the mountains and surrounding forests. The mock Victorian sash windows, tastefully decorated
walls, a Victorian Fireplace and three large oversized shabby-chic styled chandeliers add to the
overall ambience of the room.
The Pavilion is situated in the front garden amongst the trees overlooking the dam yet not
obscuring the view of the majestic Manor House. It has a large deck area, fire pit and a lovely braai
facility. The large sliding doors give the room an indoor / outdoor feel. It is ideal to host guests
during Cocktail Hour should the weather be inclement or as a casual lounge area in which to relax.
The pretty and tranquil thatched stained glass chapel can seat 150 guests. As an alternative to the
chapel, you can use the gazebo in the front garden, or our forest chapel.
Over the years, we have built up a strong reputation for quality function management and
coordination. Guests can look forward to our quiet, no fuss, management style.
On the following pages are two of our wedding packages. One is a celebration of Calderwood
Hall being over a hundred years old and offers a catering and venue all in, per person price
and the other is for those who want to make their wedding a weekend experience including
accommodation.
Perhaps neither of these is exactly what you are looking for and we understand there are
always budgets to consider so please don’t be shy, share your thoughts and we can go
from there. There is no wedding too small for us, elopements welcome!
Catering For Your Special Day...
We have an exclusive catering arrangement with CHC Catering, who promise:
“Fabulous food is our passion. Work with a team of professionals who will listen to you and
gently advise you, but mostly we understand that this is a celebration of love. We will do what it
takes to ensure that you, along with your guests, can relax and enjoy great food and the perfect
atmosphere. We take into account your style of wedding and your budget. We will guide your
menu selection in every case offering generous portions of freshly prepared food, beautifully
presented. We will make sure that everything is in hand as nothing is too much trouble. You can
rely on us to quietly make you a better host. “Bring us your expectations!””

Our Heritage Package For 2019...
In celebration of Calderwood Hall being over 100 years old, we, together with CHC Catering, have
created a special package for 2019 allowing you to have your wedding with us for only R375.00
per person! A minimum of 80 guests is required.
This includes:
• your venue hire
• a two-course buffet menu
• a signature mocktail (one glass per guest)
So, if you are having a wedding for 80 guests, your wedding venue and catering will cost
you only R30 000.00! If you host more that 80 guests, it’s still only R375.00 per person!

Please note:
• The menu can be customised to your wedding, in consultation with CHC Catering, but cannot
be less than R250 per person.
• This package isn’t available on long weekends and public holidays in 2019
• Once we have confirmed the availability of your date, you will need to pay a R10 000.00 non-
refundable deposit to confirm your wedding booking. This amount will be deducted from your final

Our Destination Package For 2019...
If you’re planning a destination weekend wedding with family and friends, this one could be for you.
Our package is R32 000.00 VAT incl. and includes both the venue hire and accommodation
in the Manor House. You will have the use of the chapel, or the garden or the forest chapel for the
wedding ceremony, the Jardine Function Centre for your wedding reception and the exclusive use
of the Manor House accommodation (excl. foyer and dining room areas) over the period of your
wedding. This accommodation is for two nights, for ten guests, on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
rate for the first night, and a Bed and Breakfast rate for the second night.
Our Special Offer Destination Package applies if you choose to book your wedding in the
months of January/February and June/July/August, or mid-week, on a Tuesday, Wednesday
or Thursday. The package is then only R28 250.00 VAT incl. These special offers are not
applicable on public holidays.
Please note:
• Once we have confirmed the availability of your date, you will need to pay a 50% non-
refundable deposit to confirm your wedding booking. This amount will be deducted from your
final account.
• A range of menu options is available from CHC Catering, this is not included in the package
price above.

Please note:
Our fee covers 10 hours from the time given by the bride for the start of the ceremony.
Notwithstanding the above, the function should end at midnight, so as not to disturb your
guests who are staying over at Calderwood Hall Guest House, with the venue being closed by
00h30. Please note that a surcharge of R3 000.00 VAT incl. will apply if the function continues
after 00h30 and the function may not continue after 01h30.
The bar will be open at the following times: Friday 14:00 to 22:00 and Saturday 11:00 to midnight.
Should you require the bar to be open for a morning / lunch wedding reception, with a cash bar,
please note a service fee of R1 100.00 VAT incl. will be levied.

Calderwood Hall is rated as an AA Highly Recommended establishment. We can sleep a
maximum of 70 guests on our estate.

We operate our accommodation bookings on a “FIRST COME FIRST SERVED” basis:
1. It is recommended that the bridal party confirm bookings, which they will be personally
responsible for paying, prior to the invitations being sent out. Important guests are to be
encouraged to book early to avoid being disappointed.
2. Wedding guests are required to make their own accommodation bookings. The bridal party
may not book accommodation on behalf of their guests unless they (the bridal party) are
going to be responsible for payment of these bookings.
3. The family suites are open plan. Each room can accommodate up to 5 adults, however,
there is only one bathroom and guests need to feel comfortable sharing.
4. We offer accommodation guests who are 65 years and over a discount of 10%.
5. Guests will be required to pay a 50% deposit to confirm their accommodation bookings.
Should you have guests staying at other accommodation establishments in the area, they are welcome
to join you for meals at the Manor House at a cost of R190,00 for Dinner and R90,00 for Breakfast.
Please let us know 3 days prior to the meal so we can cater for the correct number. We’d also
appreciate your advising us as to who will be responsible for settling this account. External wedding
guests requiring meals at Calderwood Hall are encouraged to contact Calderwood directly via email to
confirm, an invoice will be generated and payment can be made via EFT prior to arrival.
