SAIL BELLARINE REGATTA
The Sail Bellarine Regatta will bring together the entire Bellarine Peninsula sailing
community for a major on-water event to be held annually on the first weekend in
May. With the support of the Bellarine Peninsula’s three major off-the-beach clubs,
this event will include 2 days of family focused competitive racing and cater towards
a strong Victorian audience. It will focus on showcasing what is great about sailing in
our state and the exceptional coastal culture we have throughout the Bellarine
Peninsula and Greater Geelong Region.
Following the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timing of the event fortunately
allows for the greatest opportunity for this major local event to go ahead unhindered
and attract a large number of sailors that will be starved of racing due to the
cancellation of many local and interstate national championships.
BUSINESS PROPOSITION
As the sport of sailing comes to terms with the
impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, this
regatta will stand alone state-wide as a major
Victorian sailing event, while other events in
our sport are not taking place. That time of
year is always a shoulder season for both
sailing and tourism but with the majority of
sailing regattas and championship during the
summer period being cancelled or postponed,
the Bellarine Peninsula remains the only region
putting together a major event with a
comprehensive marketing effort.
This places your brand on the national stage
and captures an entire sporting audience that
have had their plans cancelled.

INDENTED HEAD YACHT CLUB (Host Club)
Arguably the best off-the-beach sailing location
in Victoria. Pristine waters, a soft white sandy
beach and a superb grassed rigging area. The
wonderful variety of sailing conditions is just the
icing on the cake. The Yacht Club boasts great
facilities, an observation deck/sailors lounge
where one can watch the sailing or the kids
swimming. Located alongside the expansive
Indented Head Community Hall and Batman
Park camping ground, there is easy access for
boaters and campers alike.
PORTARLINGTON SAILING CLUB
Is surrounded by the Bellarine Bayside Foreshore
Management run Caravan Park, the Park has now
grown to be one of the largest Caravan Parks in
Victoria, Portarlington Seaside Resort now
surrounds the back of the Club. Members are proud
of the reputation the club has built over the years in
hosting State and National Titles for monohulls,
multihulls and trailable yachts
St LEONARDS MOTOR YACHT CLUB
Is a combined sailing and motor boat club
focusing on family and community participation
in all forms of aquatic activities. The great
location with a child friendly bay beach provides
the ideal setting to enjoy all the southern part of
Port Phillip Bay has to offer with friends or
family. The club, cafe and licensed bar facilities
are open on Sundays from October through to
Easter each year. We hold social events during
our open months and host local bands on the
occasional Sunday afternoon during our summer
period, come along and enjoy the good food and drinks on a summers Sunday afternoon.

BRAND EXPOSURE
Each of our three clubs see significant coastal vehicle/foot traffic in the summer months, with
Portarlington, Indented Head and St Leonard’s all being major seaside hotspots over the summer
holidays. This event provides sponsors with a range of signage and brand exposure opportunities
including the ability to directly promote their products to the event participants/visitors.
COMPETITOR BOAT SIGNAGE
The naming rights partner of the Regatta will have their company logo on the bow of each
competitor’s boat, printed and provided by the festival to each competitor as part of their
registration pack. Other Signage options are also available in other tiers of sponsorships.

ONGOING ENGAGEMENT
As part of the event, partners will have every
opportunity to form an ongoing relationship with
host clubs and a range of various state class
associations. The Sail Bellarine Management
Committee will actively promote the event and
its sponsors, both before, during and after the
event.

and right to events.

The Exclusive Regatta Partner package is the premium sponsor opportunity
providing the naming rights to the entire event and exposure across all three yacht
clubs.

competing yachts, and also across the comprehensive output of digital media

For a fixed fee, the Chandlery Partner gains the exclusive rights to set up a pop-up
shop on site at the regatta and showcase their offerings (Negotiation are to be made
along with the merchandise partner to ensure there is no crossover of items being
sold)
Local Regatta Partner - $300
A Local Regatta Partner package is a way for you to support a grass roots
community run event, best suited to local businesses and existing club sponsors.
Your company will gain exposure across the regatta by placing brochures, vouchers
or inserts into the competitors entry packs, visibility on the web page of the regatta
and on-the-ground opportunities at the event

Tourism Operator Partner - $250
As a Tourism Operator Partner you will gain exclusive access in your area of
expertise to market and conduct localised tourisms related experiences for both the
event competitors and their spouses/families/kids throughout the regatta.
Your company will gain exposure across the regatta by placing brochures, vouchers
or inserts into the competitors entry packs, visibility on the web page of the regatta
and on-the-ground opportunities at the event

For a fixed fee, the Allied Health Partner gains exclusive rights to set up a pop-up
consulting studio onsite at the rigging area for the entire regatta to provide services
to the sailors as a commercial and promotional venture
Merchandise Partner - $POA
The Sail Bellarine Merchandise Partner is responsible for providing event branded
product for volunteers and event staff in-kind in exchange for receiving the exclusive
contract to supply the event with brand merchandise that competitors will receive as
part of their regatta entry. The Merchandise Partner may also elect to create a range
of other merchandise to be sold under a profit sharing relationship. Details to be
negotiated to ensure best outcome for all.
BBQ Partner - $POA
The BBQ Partner is responsible for the in-kind or discounted supply of BBQ meats
for the breakfast and after race food at the regatta. The meals are then on-sold to
competitors and visitors so the volunteers are able to increase their potential
fundraising revenue.
