SACRED HEART BULLETIN BOARD FAITH FORMATION ACADEMIC 2021-22 YEAR Our Parish has a wonderful group of children and young people. Every Sunday we all come to worship and receive the Sacraments. Do you know how you learned the Faith? Who taught you to know, love and serve God here on earth and be happy with Him in Heaven? For me it was a group of German Sisters, Sisters of the Poor Child Jesus who came every Sunday to our tiny mission church from their convent in Parkersburg, W.Va. Many of you also had the dedication and religious education from religious brothers, sisters, and priests. Today we do not have the number of religious orders and members of yesteryear. Few children have the opportunity to attend a Catholic School, College or University. Our Faith is the greatest gift we will ever receive. We must pass our religious heritage to our young people. Last year's classes were full of bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic children brought by an absolutely devoted group of parents. To continue passing our Faith on, we need dynamic, devoted, and knowledgeable catechists who are led by the Holy Spirit and who absolutely know, in the depths of their hearts that they are the disciples who will pass this Faith on to the younger generation, to touch each heart, to nourish each growing soul. Last year we had no unexcused faculty absences, each catechist came prepared and devoted to the children. We are hoping to do the same this year. We have a curriculum developed by the Diocese, teaching materials, lesson plans etc., but we need catechists to step up and be part of our dynamic team. You can work as a teacher, assistant teacher or aide. If you are interested in this great mission, to be a modern disciple, please consider calling Faith Formation and as St. Ignatius of Loyola told his Jesuits, “SET THE EARTH ON FIRE”. Thanks for considering......cgale TOGETHER AGAIN! SAVE THE DATE FOR OUR PARISH PICNIC SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2021 FOLLOWING THE 10:45 A.M. MASS All parishioners are invited to come and enjoy an afternoon with your Sacred Heart family at an old-fashioned picnic: grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, iced tea and soft drinks. Games for the children, activities for teens and home-made desserts for everyone. It’s an opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. Watch for additional information on how to register for this free event as we get closer to the date. Committees from all the Ministries have been organized and are ready to work. We need entertainment suitable for this type of event, especially instrumental groups. Are there any talents out there waiting to be discovered? Please contact Nancy Heilman at 295-0704 or nancyheilman42@gmail.com 6
