Summary
The last nearly 30 years, I had the privilege of working and specializing in the marina & yachting industry.
Most of the projects I have been involved with are new build or overhaul of old marinas.
Beside the infrastructure part, I implemented new marina hospitality concepts, introduced user friendly business
concepts according to the highest industry standards and wrote fair and environmentally friendly bylaws tailor
made for each specific setting
Beside creating an attractive marina for all users, I always had the financial interests of the owners in mind.
Creating new revenue streams, optimizing workflows but above all: avoiding financial leakage.
The passion for yachting came at an early age, either teaching sailing in the local yacht club, working weekends in
a sail loft or a shipyard and later becoming a professional sail-racer and skipper of many of famous yachts
belonging to captains of industry or royalty.
My hospitality training helped me in many situations and was appreciated by owners, crew, suppliers, and other
stakeholders.
I used my expertise of demanding marina-user to become marina manager to give only the best to our marina
guests by challenging each and every decision.
Over time I gained unique experience in the fields of business development, management and the operations of
marinas and resorts. I became knowledgeable in shipyard operations, yacht charters, water sports yacht club
management, yacht chandlery, events organization, and yacht management.
My professional goal is to be the best marina/resort manager in the full meaning of the word. My specialty: I
make your marina work and let it become the preferred destination for boat-owners, captains, and boat-crew
alike and make it profitable.

A New Face. A New Journey.
As Director of Marina @Lantau Yacht Club, I was tasked with the construction of the 150-slip marina and
the overhaul of the Clubsite. We transformed the marina from the live-aboard Discovery Bay Marina
Club into the vibrant, super-yacht orientated Lantau Yacht Club including the launching of the
Membership scheme and full concierge yacht services.
The Lantau Yacht Club, formerly known as Discovery Bay Marina Club, is part of a world-renowned
residential community, a unique leisure and lifestyle destination situated at the northeast end of Lantau
Island. The all-new Marina is surrounded by lush greenery and spectacular mountains, a dramatic
backdrop to the South China Sea just beyond the horizon. Our premium, members-only club offers
world-class mooring facilities and luxury amenities – the perfect place to experience a more tranquil
side of Hong Kong.
The marina offers a total of 150 berths and more than 30 berths for superyachts with all required
amenities. State of the art marina management software with remote meter reading and various
interfaces were setup.
Beside the major infrastructure works, I wrote the new business plan, the marina rules and club by-laws
and introduced a more commercial rate structure. All the SOP's have been reviewed and updated to be
in line with the new business practice. Customer service became the cornerstone of the new style
marina.
It was always the intention to do only the pre-opening and as the first 20 yachts are now in the marina
and the operations is running smooth, my job is done and time to explore new projects.

I am currently involved in a company of waterfront development who is bidding on a waterfront
project cum marina in Havana-Cuba.
My role is helping with the business plan, feasibility studies, concept, design, and strategy.
The first phase is focussed on a 150-slip marina, this could be expanded to 500 slips including a
whole urban development in the old port of Havana.

In charge of the daily operational aspects of a boutique marina linked with Dubai Festival City.
