St. Paul’s Lutheran School ~ Sent to Serve Fourth graders were excited to be back inschool this year. Our classroom hada complete makeover: new carpet, whiteboards, cabinets, tables, chairs, walls were painted, and just recently new windows. Also, throughthe Discover Dairy program (Dairy Excellence Foundation) fourth graders adopted a COW! Sharlamagne was born on September 26, 2020 at the Synergy Family Dairy in Pulaski, Wisconsin. The owners send monthly updates on how well Sharlamagne is growing. Her weight is 400lbs. and about as tall as a 3 rd grader. The students completed mini-lessons associated with agriculture, diet, housing, vaccinations, etc. During one of their winter STEM activities 4 th grade made use of the outdoors. Using colored ice shapes of various sizes they made sculptures. They had to problem-solve by learning how to stick the pieces together. Students currently, are learningcursive along with the other academic subjects while studying their parts for Go Fish: the K-4 musicalat the end of April. Mission Statement: Helping God’s children grow to be energetic servant leaders for HIM through love, respect, and a commitment to excellence. 6

(6am) EASTER SUNRISE Exodus 15:1–11 The n Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the L ORD, saying, “I will sing to the L ORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. The L ORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will e xalt him. The L ORD is a man of war; the L ORD is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his host he cast into the sea, and his chosen office rs we re sunk in the Red Sea. The floods covered them; they we nt down into the de pths like a stone. Your right hand, O L ORD, glorious in powe r, your right hand, O L ORD, shatters the enemy. In the greatness of your majesty you overthrow your adversaries; you se nd out your fury; it consumes them like stubble. At the blast of your nostrils the wate rs pile d up; the floods stood up in a heap; the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea. The e ne my said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of the m. I will draw m y sword; my hand shall destroy them.’ You blew with your wind; the se a covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty wate rs. Who is like you, O L ORD, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awe some in glorious deeds, doing wonde rs?” 1 Corinthians 5:6b–8 Your boasting is not good. Do you not k now that a little leaven le avens the whole lump? C le anse out the old le aven that you m ay be a new lump, as you re ally are unleavened. For C hrist, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us there fore ce lebrate the festival, not with the old le aven, the le aven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of since rity and truth. St. John 20:1–18 Now on the first day of the we e k Mary Magdalene came to the tomb e arly, while it was still dark , and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So she ran and we nt to Sim on Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not k now whe re they have laid him.” So Pe te r we nt out with the other disciple, and they we re going toward the tomb. Both of them we re running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and re ached the tomb first. And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Then Simon Pe te r came, following him, and we nt into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the face cloth, which had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but folded up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also we nt in, and he saw and believed; for as ye t they did not understand the Scripture, that he m ust rise from the dead. Then the disciples we nt back to their homes. But Mary stood we e ping outside the tomb, and as she we pt she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two ange ls in white , sitting whe re the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the fe e t. They said to her, “Woman, why are you we e ping?” She said to them, “They have taken away m y Lord, and I do not know whe re they have laid him.” Having said this, she turned around and saw Je sus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “W oman, why are you we eping? W hom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the garde ner, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me whe re you have laid him , and I will tak e him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aram aic, “Rabboni!” (which m eans Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am asce nding to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene we nt and announce d to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to he r. 19
(8am) THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD Isaiah 25:6–9 On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken. It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” 1 Corinthians 15:1–11 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. St. Mark 16:1–8 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. 20 Apri l 4, 2021
