MAY 2021 PATSY T. MINK On January 4, 1965 Patsy T. Mink was sworn in as the first Asian American woman and woman of color in Congress. She was vocal on civil and women's rights and opposed the Vietnam war. She was a key author of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
