Across Queensland, QCWA branch members will be celebrating the Association’s 100th anniversary which occurs on 11th August 2022. Connecting women across Queensland QCWA – PROSTON BRANCH Since 1922 the QCWA has been a prominent fixture in country and city towns alike. From the humble beginnings of providing an organisation for women to overcome the loneliness and worry of isolation it is now a society providing friendship and support to women across the world. Throughout the years women across Queensland have banded together to share in a history filled with love, care and of course we can’t forget tea and scones. We are an active community of women who, together improve the lives of people living regional, rural and remote Queensland. We are mums, grandmothers, single or married; we are women employed in the home or in the workforce; we are just like you. We hold a general meeting on the second Tuesday of each month in our rooms in Rodney Street, Proston, starting at 9:30am. On every Monday of the month, we gather for craft and laughter (again, at the CWA rooms) from 9:30 until approx. 1 or 2pm. You do not have to be a member to join our craft group. It doesn’t matter where you live; there’s a way for you to join in the fun, join in the activities and feel connected to other women. 52
