North Chevy Chase Elementary School 3700 Jones Bridge Road Chevy Chase, MD 20815 Principal’s Post March 6, 2020 March is Nutrition Month! Dear North Chevy Chase Families, Happy March! Thank you for coming to so many school activities last month. As a member of our school community, please let us know if there is anything you need from us. Thank you to all parents for your contributions and time to make the Valentine’s Day festivities enjoyable for every student. Many parents and visitors commented on the “family atmosphere” in the building. This is unequivocally the most important ingredient that takes a school and community from good to great. The staff at NCC is dedicated to promoting positive behavior in all school settings. We have three school-wide expectations which are reinforced daily. These expectations are simple and consistent for our students. At NCC, we expect students to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn each day. Please help us reinforce these expectations with your children at home. Hispanic Hotline The Hispanic Hotline was created several years ago to minimize the language barriers between MCPS staff and monolingual Spanish-speaking parents of the community in everyday simple situations related to school issues affecting the children of these families. The Hispanic Hotline can assist parents in contacting school staff, provide information about various school procedures, participate in three-way calls to translate notes, letters, etc. The hotline is attended by a bilingual staff from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The telephone is 301-230-3073. Schools, staff, and parents are encouraged to use this service. Save Box Tops Please remember to clip your General Mills Box Tops and send them in with your child during the school year. NCC receives 10¢ for each box top collected!
