And digital. • We have leveraged our significant mail production scale and capability and our unique industry relationships to put together a special postage‐cost‐saving service package. • We expect that not all of the capabilities presented will be relevant to you today – but we also expect many will be. We also know that many of you are enjoying some of these benefits from us already. • In short, the cost savings we can deliver are material. Postage Cost Savings Lowest Cost to Send a valid Zone A DL Mail Piece ‐ $0.68 What’s it all about? • When you send mail, postage is by far the greatest single cost • Even for the lowest cost mail item, postage is between 63% and 89% of the total cost Paper and envelope • With postage cost increases an annual event, now is a great time to Mail house examine and plan to reduce your postage costs. Postage ‐ Volume Post Zone A Valid. SOA 90%+ • DO NOT accept postage as a sunk cost – there are nearly always Lowest Cost to Send an Invalid opportunities to save. And there’s nearly always a way to avoid Zone A Mail Piece ‐ $1.15 paying full rate postage of $1.40 (soon $1.50) per DL envelope. • Our team has been providing postage cost saving services to clients for a very long time – following is a high‐level overview of what we can deliver. Postage Cost Savings A quick summary of our innovations and solutions General Postage, Volume Post & Courier Discounts • If you’re not a registered charity getting the 10% NZ Post Charity discount, we can offer you an extra discount on all your NZ Post mail and courier rates. Sound too good to be true? It’s not. Same NZ Post service – for a lower price. For larger mail or courier users this can be worth tens of thousands of dollars each year. Many of our clients are already enjoying this effortless benefit. Postal Audit • We’ll analyse your NZ Post account which shows your organisational mail costs across all of the different postal and courier products you use. From that we’ll identify and quantify cost saving opportunities, we’ll then report these back to you and help you to implement. Some implementations can happen very quickly – so the savings happen soon. The postal audit is a free service. Tell your Procurement or Finance teams • Your Procurement and Finance teams will love this, and you’ll have more budget available for your customer communications. Postage Cost Savings A quick summary of our innovations and solutions Data Cleansing • With the SOA system replaced by the Address Accuracy Percentage (AAP) in Feb 2021, having clean data for every mailing has never been more important. The more compliant your address data the lower your postage costs. • We can help update incorrect or non‐compliant postal addresses. This can be done as a one‐off project with updated addresses returned to you for upload into your customer systems or we can update addresses for individual mailings. • As well as reducing your postage costs, data cleansing will also help reduce the amount of returned mail as improving your address accuracy also increases deliverability, so your mail is more likely to reach your customer. • Here’s how the current AAP percentage effects the postage price for every mailing. Compliant address data will save a lot on postage. Again, these prices increase on July 1st. Slide 5
Postage Cost Savings A quick summary of innovations and solutions Mail Batch Aggregation • We can aggregate your batches of daily mail into bigger batches that meet the threshold for bulk mail discounts, reducing the price you pay for postage – often from full rate to Volume Post. We have technology that makes this quick and easy and we can develop a process that works for your requirements. Envelope consolidation • Where there’s a batch of letters with potentially multiple letters for a single customer – we can co‐envelope those letters – so long as there is a unique customer ID somewhere on the letters. This saves postage cost and is good for customer experience and your brand. GNAs • We can capture and report on GNAs as well as remove any from future mailings. And perhaps most importantly we can help you find those GNAs. (Actually, we can help you find “lost” email clients as well – where your emails bounce back.) Slide 6
Postage Cost Savings A quick summary of innovations and solutions Postal Channel Optimisation • There are two mail delivery networks out there – NZ Post and DX ‐ so you have a choice. Each offers advantages and disadvantages. Because we’re not owned by either of these delivery networks, we can help you work out the best network/s decision. Address Improvement and Envelope Addressing • Organisations aren’t always able (or willing) to change the address printed on a client or customer communication. Examples might be banking or insurance or billing documents. This could be for legal reasons or simply due to the way the document is created. • If an address is invalid or incomplete this will result in higher postage costs. We offer options for correcting or improving the address and therefore reducing postage costs ‐ without altering the address on the document itself. Instead, we print the improved address onto a non‐window envelope and automatically match this to the personalised document that’s inside. • And this can be done from either PDFs or data files. Postage Cost Savings A quick summary of innovations and solutions Mail Format Compliance Optimisation • Small changes to mailing and envelope formats and design can result in big savings, and with 42 years' experience we have helped clients save thousands of dollars through tweaking mail formats and design. We really understand the compliance rules and offer guidance that can save many thousands of dollars. Mail Format Compliance Exemptions • Because we understand the compliance format rules, we also understand where the rules can be bent ‐ and we make it our business to find those opportunities. We recently saved a client $18,000 on a single mailing by asking for an envelope exemption. An exemption won't be granted every time, but we’ll work hard to secure one for you. Mail Presentation • The way mail is presented to the networks can have a huge impact on your postage price and we are experts on presentation requirements. We recently saved a client $4,000 in postage by resorting some pre‐printed material into postcode order. This took a little bit of time but the savings were well worth the effort. Slide 8

There are many hidden costs, mostly around people. • Email is often not as effective as mail – so getting the balance of email and physical mail communications right is important… and we can help with that. • We offer two email platforms – to suit the most simple to the most complex requirements. • Our clients process over 500,000,000 emails each year – so we really know our stuff in both marketing and transactional communications. • And it’s not just about email – digital documents and web forms and fulfilment can create huge savings and maybe create a better customer experience.
