SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT 7.9.2021 PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS USING INDICATORS, MONITORING AND TRENDING 2nd – 4th November 2021, Borssele NPP, Netherlands The Workshop will be organised by WANO Paris Centre in collaboration with EPZ, Netherlands. Topics Participants are welcome to offer their presentations with the aim to stimulate discussion. The topics will be as follows: The role of WANO and possible support in plant improvement processes. Overall results of the WANO Indicators. Trends and limitations in how these can be used. Comparison between the WANO Paris centre standards regarding reporting of performance indicators. Enhanced Performance Monitoring, one of the streams in WANO’s Actions for Excellence. o Experience feedback from WANO and Borssele as a pilot plant will be one of the key elements in the workshop. Information on relevant WANO guidelines and other supporting documents, i.e. o GL 2019-01 ”Performance Monitoring” o GL 2015-01 “Implementing a Framework to Significantly Improve Nuclear Plant Performance” Testimonies/presentations of members on good experience and/or challenges in using indicators, monitoring and trending to drive performance improvement. Fictional exercise focused on the appropriate selection of indicators to monitor depending on what performance change is required. Objectives This workshop will deal with questions regarding how to use performance indicators when developing and implementing an improvement plan, and how to sustain high performance. The workshop will include positive examples of how members have used performance indicators in improving their performance. In addition, the workshop will address the use of relevant WANO guidelines and gaining appropriate WANO support in achieving improvement. Participants are encouraged to come to the workshop prepared to share their challenges and experiences at their site. It should be the objective of each delegate to take away at least one improvement technique or practice that they will implement at their own site. performance improvements Page 1/3
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT 7.9.2021 Break-Out Sessions Breakout sessions will be used to allow time for structured interaction with colleagues and consideration of the major themes. Target group The Workshop will provide a platform for experience exchange and networking among the representatives of WANO Paris Centre members. The target attendees are managers, process owners and others with responsibility to drive performance improvement and/or to monitor performance by indicators and trending. Arrival and Departure Participants are recommended to make their plans to arrive at the hotel in Middelburg on the evening of Monday November 1st. The workshop is going to end at 12:00 on Thursday November 4th, which should be the earliest time to depart. Note: A pre-work-shop get-together and/or other social activities are not planned. We will monitor the development and may add such elements later on - if it’s judged to be reasonable given the necessary pandemic precautions.
