It covers different scenarios:

CAx-PDM Interoperability test case
This test case describes the minimum amount of data that should be exchangeable between CAx
sys-tems and PDM systems, when one of the exchange partners hasn’t got a PDM system.
It covers different scenarios:
• Update sending of data as well as return sending of data
• Requires management of common IDs at OEM and supplier

VIM: Use Case Visual Issue Management
The simulation expert identifies an issue
Collision between part and welding gun
He uses Visual Issue Management workflow to document
the issue and forwards to designer
The geometric designer opens the issue /scene via VIM
in CAD tool and provides a solution in CAD tool
Designer hands over the solution back to the simulation
expert via VIM

Distribution of engineering and manufacturing information to manufacturing suppliers, for production and/or manufacturing
engineering, using AP242 XML files referencing and, positioning 3D CAD models as external documents. It is not co-engineering.
OEM is able to produce a valid technical data package from different applications of its information system, which is essentially its
PDM system. The content of the dataset exported from its PDM system with the as-designed view (EBOM) and the as-planned
(MBOM) view of the product structure, and the relationships between those two views.
The supplier is able to consume the technical data package. By validating and importing the information inside its information
system, potentially including PDM, ERP and MES systems.
