Letter from the Director Unfortunately, it is all about COVID-19. We hope this letter finds you healthy. Spring and summer programs will look a little different this year, as they should. You will notice the absence of some traditional programs where either the activity, age of participants, or both, make social distancing impractical (such as T-Ball). However, you will also notice the increase of programs and activities that can be provided safely and may also serve as child care, (such as Explore Camps). Several of these are new innovative programs spurred on by the times, Rec2Go is one example. Let me also take this opportunity to thank our residents for passing the Parks & Trails District last year. By voting for this District, you have made it clear that Parks and Trails are critical municipal infrastructure vital to our health and well-being, and addressing the maintenance in a systematic, professional manner is important to our community. We take our business and your trust seriously. Lastly, I’d like to take a moment to thank the hardworking men and women who work to bring you these public spaces and programs. They are an incredibly dedicated, forward thinking, selfless group of public servants. They have worked through this pandemic with honor to keep parks, trails, facilities and programs open and available for your much needed use. Take care of yourself and our neighbors. Let’s make it a great year. Sincerely, • Mitch www.bozeman.net/Recreation • 406-582-2290 5
