No refunds will be processed after the second class. All refunds are subject to a $15 administrative fee. Refunds must be approved by City staff. Residents Rates are set for Woodland residents living within the city limits. Non-Residents* Rates for those living outside the city limits, PO boxes, or those who can’t provide proof of residency are subject to an additional 20% or more for classes. The primary focus of the non-profit Woodland Senior Center Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to Recreation Foundation is to assist, augment, and the betterment of the lives of Woodland Seniors. 4 Aquatics All Aquatics programs are held at the Charles Brooks Community Swim Center located at 155 N. West St. Lap Swim and Water Aerobics Public Swim Passes are available for sale at the pool during program times Free Pass Fees Rate Senior Rate (50+) The pool is open for free recreational swimming Monthly Pass Unlimited during the summer months. The facility is equipped $50 $40 visits in calendar month with diving boards, picnic areas, showers, lockers, and 10 Visit Pass $40 $30 changing rooms. Woodland Wreckers – Youth Recreational Swim Team Ages 5-18, $135* Youth ages 5-18 are encouraged to sign up for the City’s recreation swim team, the Woodland Wreckers. Practices begin on April 27 and swim meets start in May. Swimmers must be able to swim one pool length (25 yards) without assistance to participate on the team. For more information including practice times, dates, and meet information refer to the swimmer’s handbook at cityofwoodland.org/wreckers. Please register child by their age as of June 1, 2020. Junior Guard Program Session 1: June 15-25 Monday-Thursday; 10:00 am-12:00 pm Leadership and Professionalism Ages 12-14, $75 per session Leadership and Professionalism builds a foundation of The Junior Guard Program provides opportunities to be trained knowledge in basic first aid, CPR, fitness & swimming skills, the basics of water safety and be provided with the foundation professionalism, and leadership skills. of lifeguarding skills, physical fitness, education and exposure Session 2: July 13-23 to aquatic safety. Aquatics 5 Swim Lessons Classes are available for infants, children, teens, and adults. Swim lessons are designed for all levels and classes allow swimmers to develop good habits in the water. The lessons help swimmers to become more comfortable in the water, learn and refine new strokes, and become stronger, safer swimmers. This program has scholarships available for qualified applicants. Tadpole - Ages 6 months to 3 years old Dolphin - Level 4 Stroke Improvement - The Tadpole class leads parents and children in basic swimming Average Age 7-14 years old skills, emphasizing water orientation and safety. Parents are taught The Dolphin class focuses on stroke improvement and introduces to feel more comfortable in the water with their infant. Infants breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly. Meet others who are on the same journey with new little ones at home. Pre- registration is not required. Stop in to join the group. This program is sponsored by Measure J. Toddler Time Thursdays; 9:30-10:30 am Community & Senior Center, 2001 East St. Ages 1/up, $20*/month (first four Thursdays) In this weekly class, toddlers are introduced to new experiences and activities including arts and crafts, local adventures, music, and socialization. Internet Driver Education Ages 15/up, $40/course* Driver education is a California-required course for teens to receive a driver’s license. It is the first step that must be taken so the teen can receive a driver’s permit. DMV-accepted certificates issued upon successful completion of the course. Summer at City Hall exposes youth to how local government works, positive approaches to influence decision making, and democracy. Participants will tour City and County departments, receive lessons on civics, participate in job shadowing of City of Woodland personnel, and participate in an advocacy project which will lead to a Mock City Council meeting. 22 Parks & Facilities Park Permits Reservations can be made online at cityofwoodland.org/CSD. Go to “Online Registration,” click on “Account,” and you can either create a new account or log into your existing account to reserve a park. You can also reserve a park in person at the Community Services Department, 2001 East St., Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Fees are listed for local non-profit and private group use. Groups up to 75: $40/hour for residents, $80/hour for non-residents. Fees apply for any changes to permits. Athletic Field Reservation Procedures All groups or teams who want to play league or tournament games on the fields, or any groups who want to use the athletic fields should proceed with the reservation process.
