TIMED RUNS – 1 - 4 LOTUS CUP UK SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP DURATION – 4 X 15 MINS TECH TALK DESCRIPTION Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship is a sprint championship with seven rounds scheduled at venues across the country. Its aim is to introduce more enthusiasts into the world of competitive motorsport and is suitable to those with road-going cars. Competitors do not need a rollcage, fire extinguisher or harness to take part. The Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship operates similar technical rules to the MSVR Elise Trophy & Lotus Cup Europe race series. There will be three separate championships in 2021, one for normally-aspirated Production cars, one for forced induction Production cars and one for faster SuperSport cars. Drivers can easily graduate to racing if they want once they are comfortable with their performance and ready to take the next step. COSTS Basic start price - £8,000 (Elise) to £60,000 (Exige V6) Running costs - From £50 per round POINTS 1st-20, 2nd-18, 3rd-16, 4th-15, then incrementally down one point for each finishing position score. Bonus points for number of cars beaten in class. 1 bonus point for fastest 1st run in class. MOTORSPORT RACE NUMBER & DURATION VISION MSV SUPERCUP RACE 5 (45 MINS) TECH TALK DESCRIPTION MotorSport Vision Supercup is the graduate championship for Trackday Trophy drivers and other more experienced competitors in higher performance production and production- based sports and saloon cars. Further details can be found on the website. Each round consists of a 25 minute qualifying session followed by a 45 minute race. Qualifying and the race take place on the same day. The race has a mandatory 2 minute Pit Stop for all teams. SPECIFCATION The regulations for the series are reasonably relaxed, so that most cars that have already been developed for track days will be eligible. No more than 240 bhp per tonne. Minimum weight of 700kg (post race and with driver). 4WD vehicles are not permitted Class S 206 - 240 bhp/tonne Class A 176 - 205 bhp/tonne Class B 151 - 175 bhp/tonne Class C Up to 150 bhp/tonne POINTS AND REWARDS Points will be awarded to competitors listed as classified finishers in the final results as follows: 30, 27, 24, 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, plus 1 for single fastest lap in qualifying or race. RACE NUMBERS & DURATION MINI MIGLIA CHAMPIONSHIP RACE 7 (20 MINS) & RACE 11 (20 MINS) TECH TALK DESCRIPTION The Se7ens’ younger but more powerful Mini Miglia siblings first graced UK circuits in 1969/70, and have consistently been providing tin-top action for decades, all trying to win The Peter Collins Trophy. These original 998cc machines now run with larger capacity 1293cc engines. On the back of the Miglia grids, the M7RC runs its Mini Libre semi-invitational category for other Mini race saloons, with varying interpretations of A-Series tuning up to 1400cc.
