MAGAZINE COMMITTEE
February, and here we are with spring not
far away. We do look forward to receiving
input for the magazine from the Villagers.
Recipes, poems and snippets of interesting
information are all welcome.
Look out in next months’ magazine for
details of a short story competition which
the Villager Magazine Committee would
like to run. We hear of the such interesting
lives many of you and/or your families have
led, so we thought it would be good to
gather these stories to share with the rest Around the table - left to right: Helen Johnstone,
of the village. Sue Kirby, Rachael Milling, Len Curtis & Mary Chapman

Wishing you all a happy February and lots
of Valentine cards!

 The Villager Magazine Schedule
Due to the overwhelming response of articles and content for The Villager Magazine, the committee
request that articles are no more than 250 words in length.
15th of the Month: All content to be with Natalie by 5.00pm (*Please note that unfortunately due to copy
and print deadlines, we are unable to accept any content after this date)
16th of the Month: Villager Magazine Committee meets to finalise and proof read content
As we have to collate and format all content for the magazine as we go, if you are able to get your
content to us before the 15th each month that would be much appreciated.
 Many thanks

VOLUNTEERING

ROOM TO REWARD
Rick Rouse is one of our Volunteer Drivers
here at Whiteley Village and over the last
12 months he has supported our in-house
driving service by taking residents on
trips inside and outside the village. This
has enabled people who are otherwise
isolated due to illness, age or frailty to
access services. We are able to call on
Rick to volunteer for us at short notice and
he is always willing to help. He recently
went out of his comfort zone to drive
several groups of villagers to see the
Christmas lights in London and without
Rick and Peter’s support we couldn’t
have achieved this. We were delighted to
be able to offer him a Room to Reward
certificate and night away to thank him for
all his voluntary support.
