Pacelli's Weekly Announcements February 12-Feruary 18 Request form and details attached to this email A Note from the Finance Office NEXT WEEK Hello Everyone! With enrollment open and ready for you to enroll, it means signing up for a tuition plan. In June, tuition amounts for the 2022-2023 school year will be given to all families. Please continue to complete the financial agreement within the online enrollment packet. In addition, please submit a copy of your 2021 1040 tax return form online or via email as soon as you can. This will help speed up the process in June. If I do not receive a copy of your tax return and you are requesting financial aid, you may not receive the financial funds available. With K-12 Tuition being income-based, your 2021 1040 tax form is required to be eligible for financial aid. All 2021 1040 tax forms are due by June 1, 2022 IMPORTANT DATES If you have any questions, please reach out to me at sbelden@pacellischools.org or 507-509-9200. Thank you! Sarah Huinker(Belden) Shamrock Zone Parents I want to remind parents of our policy regarding your child(ren) clocking in and out of shamrock zone. It is a safety concern to Pacelli and our DHS license that parents are not signing in/out their child(ren) on the laptop. I have attached the policy below. Parents will be required to sign-in their child(ren) at arrival and sign-out their child(ren) at pick-up, daily on the Sign-in/Sign out Laptop when attending Shamrock Zone Child Care. Each parent is assigned a Pin/Barcode to use for logging their child in/out. Parents must communicate with staff members when they are dropping off or picking-up so that teacher headcount remains accurate. As we move forward and look at how individual classrooms are affected, we may strongly recommend wearing masks in a specific classroom but not the whole school for a limited amount of time. Dear Pacelli Families- OVER HALFWAY THROUGH THE SCHOOL YEAR.. This month, we are embarking on the fifth unit of the Friendzy program. The students are listening, growing, and exemplifying their learnings in class and on the playground. We hope that you see positive changes at home as well. The title of this week's unit is "Watch My Words." This week's teaching addresses the importance of words and how we can use them to build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Catchphrase (main point for students to catch on to): "Watch My Words" Key Verses (Biblical anchor points): "Finally, brothers and sisters whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things." Philippians 4:8 (NLT) "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29 (NLT) Continue the Conversation (discuss the following at home): 1. Think before you speak. When we think before we speak, we choose kind words rather than unkind words. Use the T.H.I.N.K. acrostic and ask yourself are my words: True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, or Kind? 2. Watch my words. Don't let unkind words come out of your mouth. Once words are released from our mouths, we cannot take them back. If we take time to choose our words wisely, we will not hurt those around us. 3. Pay attention to what you're thinking about. Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on what is true, noble, lovely, pure, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. When we think on those things, it will impact the words we speak. 4. Let your words be a gift. Our words have the power to encourage and help others. Ephesians 4:29 instructs us to: "say only what helps, so each word is a gift." Let's be friends who give the gift of encouraging words! This week's unit provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate repentance. There are moments in our lives where we all have opened our mouths and said words we wish we could retract. By modeling to your children how to course correct when a mistake occurs, you invite God to do great work through your weakness. He promises to be our strength when we are weak. Trust that God will accomplish more through your weakness than could be accomplished in your own strength. Over the next few weeks, we hope your student will begin to use this unit's catchphrase: "Watch My Words." The catchphrase is the main point that we want the students to remember and use over and over. TELL ME MORE /// What is one way your student has taken the time to watch their words this month?
