Welcome to Open Studios 2019 South East Artists (SEAS) are exhibiting in Deal, Walmer, Ringwould and St. Margaret’s Bay, in individual studios, galleries and at three group venues: the Angling Club, Astor Theatre and Landmark Centre on 22+23rd June & 29+30th June. Work includes woodcuts, mosaic, glass, painting, photography, drawing, embroidered textiles, ceramics, pottery, printmaking, collage, montage, assemblage, constructions, following themes of heritage, travel, local scenes, events, people, ideas, feelings, movement, dance and music. SEAS artists are making links this year with the Deal Music and Arts Festival, starting on 28th June, where some artists will be producing art during music events; you can combine Open Studios visits with open gardens on the 30th June; there are printmaking demonstrations on Saturday mornings; or have your portrait drawn on the spot during the final weekend. Follow the trail using the map and details of individual artists inside. Meet and talk to the artists. Join us at St George’s Hall, Deal High Street on 1st June to see a preview of work showing during the Open Studios weekends. Our group continues to grow, with more artists showing this year and more opportunities to exhibit work through SEAS.
