ONE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS RESPONSE YEAR ON LOOKING AHEAD Currently, there isn’t anyone sleeping rough in Watford but homelessness hasn’t gone away. We saw almost 200 people with a new case of homelessness (rough sleeping and/or sofa‑surfing) come to the Haven for housing advice and practical support in the first year of the pandemic. We will continue to be here to help, particularly as unemployment increases and the eviction ban ends. Our work with people facing street homelessness will continue through Outreach Plus, we have started a brand‑new recovery programme using horticultural therapy, Cultivate, for people living in New Hope accommodation, and have expanded our Tenancy Sustainment Team to ensure people move on successfully to independent living.
