April 2021 When Juan finally moved in, the only possessions he owned were some clothes. He needed everything to furnish his apartment. Juan’s Catholic Charites case manager worked to find him everything he needed to live in his new apartment. We were able to provide Juan with all the basics he needed to enjoy his new home with a combination of items from the Resale Center, items bought with donations, and staff pitching in. And, because of the generosity of our community, we were also able to pay for Juan’s utility deposit so he could have his electricity service connected. When Juan’s case manager delivered the items that had been collected, donated, and purchased for him, she was very moved by his grateful smile and the tears that flowed from his eyes. He was so thankful for this blessing. Juan made his case manager realize that life can get very hard at times, but we can’t give up!
