Southland Primary Schools’ Golf Champs 2020 Driving down to the Drummond Golf Club with our keen load of golf players on-board: Maisie, Noah, Jack, Me (Ben) and our Manager, Paul Heslip. We were quite keen to get out and have some fun. Junior Adventure Race We started with an Ambrose in the morning - an 8 hole course which we all thought we went pretty well in. Then after a short lunch break we set off on our own activities. We started with the chipping onto the green, and what a disaster with Maisie scoring the only points for that activity!! Then we went pitching into a black net where we went really well. After that we went to chuck and putt, which we were very successful in. Lastly we went to putting where we finished on a good note scoring lots of points for the team. Now that we were finished it was the most nerve racking bit of the day; waiting for the results. It was the final moment. “And in 1st place we have... NSC Blue!!”. OMG that is us.—2 years running (Note from Ms Mee: they don’t want to brag, but that is the first time that has ever happened in the history of this competition! Fabulous job, team!) A huge thanks to Paul Heslip for being our manager. We greatly appreciated all of your help, advice and encouragement. Another huge thanks to Ms Mee for helping us on a Friday afternoons and for letting us compete in this competition - as well Mrs Beer who did the organising. So while we just wanted to have some fun, we had put in the work beforehand too, and we could not have had a better result. Respect for Self Respect for Others Respect for Property
