NOTICE OF RACE (NOR)
        International «SHABOLat Spring Regatta 2020»

will be organized by:
    - Zatoka Sailing Club
   - Sailing federation of Ukraine
   - Sailing federation of Odessa Region
   - Shipping company «Madonich»
   - hotel «Liman»
- Odessa Racing Yacht Club

     Dates:
   - Between 24th – 28th of March 2020
Place:
   - Sergyivka resort, Odessa region, Ukraine.
     Classes:
   - Optimist Class, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial (open class).

1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing 2017-2020.
1.2 Rule 61.1 “Informing the Protestee” is changed as follows:
   Add to rule 61.1(a) “The protesting boat shall inform the Race Committee of
   the boat/s being protested at the finishing line immediately after finishing.
1.3 Rule 40 and the preamble to Part 4 are changed as follows:
        1.3.1 The first sentence of rule 40 is deleted and replaced by: "Each
        competitor shall wear a personal flotation device (PFD) according to class
        rule 4.2 (a), properly secured at all times while on the water except when
        temporarily adding or removing clothing."
        1.3.2 Add to the preamble of Part 4, after 'racing': ", except rule 40 as
        amended by instruction 1.3.1"
1.4 Rule changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing
instructions may also change other racing rules.
1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

2. ADVERTISING
2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the
Organizing Authority.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all nations.
3.2 Classes:
   - Optimist, competitors must be born not early 2005.
   - Laser 4.7, competitors must be at least 12 years old but born not early 2003.

-    Laser Radial, open class (male, female and any age).
3.3 Entry forms are submitted online by https://sail-races.com by the Club that
sailors will participate in regatta. Also e-mail the following ltd_madonich@ukr.net
information: - Information should be:
Club name; Class; sailor`s name and sure name; sail number and initials of the
country; year of birth.
Registrations at the race office venue shall be made latest on Tuesday, 24 March
2020 at 17.00 by the Race Secretary.
Race office hours 24 of March: 10:00 - 17:00.

3.4. The late registration of participants must be made at the race office not
later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
3.5. Each sailor must check their data during registration information provided in
electronic form to the Authorized Organizer.
3.6. Carrying out races in case of admission to them only one yacht is not
it is supposed.

4. ENTRY FEE
4.1. Entry fee is 15€ for all classes. The fee must be paid in full at registration on
March 24, 2020.
4.2. The fee includes:
- ensuring the safety of the regatta;
- expenses for judges - travel, accommodation and meal, compensation for work;
- lease of jury’s boats with their fuel;
- awards, etc.

5. FORMAT OF THE REGATTA
5.1 Format of the regatta will be the fleet races.

The race schedule may change depending on weather conditions.
6.2 All details about the races will be determined on Sailing Instruction.

7. MEASUREMENT
7.1 All competitors shall comply with the Class Rules. Boats may be checked at
any time on shore and on the water.
7.2 Substitution of damaged or lost equipment will not be allowed unless approved
in writing by the Race Committee. Requests for substitution shall be made to the
Race Committee at the first reasonable opportunity.
7.3 Substitution of damaged equipment may be permitted providing that the
relevant form has been filled in at the Race Office and both the damaged and the
substituting equipment has been checked by the Measurement Committee and the
substituting equipment has been scrutinised by the Measurement Committee.
74 If the substitution was made on the water between races, both the damaged and
the substituting pieces of equipment shall be presented to the Measurement
Committee after the end of the day’s racing. In this case, the substitution is subject
to the approval of the Race Committee given retrospectively.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 The sailing instructions will be made available upon registration at the venue.

9. VENUE
9.1 The Regatta will be held in resort Sergyivka, Odessa region, Ukraine.
The shore venue will be the beach near bridge and the racing area will be in front
of the venue. Venue is displays in att.1.

10. THE COURSE
10.1 All details about courses will be determined on Sailing Instructions.

11. SCORING
11.1 Low-point system of RRS App A will be applied.
11.2 3 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
11.3 Scheduled 12 races for all classes.

12. PENALTY SYSTEM
12.1 Appendix P: P2.1 and P2.2 will apply. P2.3 will not apply.
So every time after first penalty, penalized boat should retire. If she fails to do so
she shall be disqualified without a hearing and her score shall not be excluded.
12.2 Decisions of the Jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.

13. SUPPORT BOATS
13.1 All support boats shall comply with the rules established by the Organising
Committee.
13.2 Support boats shall stay outside the racing area where the boats are racing
from the time of the first warning signal until all boats have finished or the Race
Committee signals a postponement, general recall or abandonment.

14. BOAT CHATER
14.1 The Optimist boat carter cost is 100€ for the regatta.

15. ACCOMMODATION
15.1 The organization will provide free accommodation for all foreign teams (two
adults and sailors). Free accommodation includes breakfast, lunch box and dinner.
The accommodation dates that are paid by the organization are 24 th, 25th, 26th,
27th and 28th of March 2020.
15.2 The hotel is LIMAN, located by walking distance from the venue. It is shown in
att.1.

15.3 Daily hotel prices are 20€ per person for whom wishes to stay before or after
the regatta dates or team members who exceeds the quote. Extra person and extra
day must be paid for accommodation.

16. BERTHING
15.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the boat park.

17. PRIZES
17.1 Optimist class prizes will be awarded to:
 - Top ten best-placed in overall. (If total number of participants will be not less
    than 50)
 - The three best-placed junior competitors. (born 2009 and later)
 - The three best-placed female competitors,
 - The three best-placed male competitors.
17.2 Laser 4.7 class prizes will be awarded to:
 - The three best-placed female competitors,
 - The three best-placed male competitors.
17.3 Laser Radial class prizes will be awarded to:
 - The three best-placed in overall.

18. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
18.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk and
responsibility. See Rule 4, Decision to Race.
18.2 The Organising Authority and any other party involved in the organization of
the Championship will accept no liability what so ever for any injury, damage, loss
or claim, whether personal or material, incurred by or inflicted to competitors
before, during or after the Regatta.
18.3 All competitors and support staff will be required to execute liability waiver.
