1. RULES The regatta is ruled by: 1.1 The OA : Tahiti Elite Voile under the authority of the Tahitian Sailing Federation 1.2 The rules of Sailing Race (SR) 1.3 The SR modified as written in the Race Instructions 1.4 The French version of this NR prevails 2. ADVERTISING DURING THE REGATTA Boats will have to display advertising chosen and given by the OA. If this rule is breached, the World Sailing 20.9.2 rule will apply. 3. ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION 3.1 The regatta is opened to all Diam24 od boats.
3.2 Eligible Diam24 teams can register in completing the application form and by sending 50% of the registration total fees required. 3.3 The competitors will have to present at the registration in Tahiti: - A valid third party insurance proof document with a €2 million minimal cover; - A medical certificate that certify no contraindication for Sailing less than 1 year (in French or English) and a parental authorization for underage juvenile. 3.4 If less than 6 teams are confirmed by December 20th 2019, the OA can cancel the event. In this case, the OA will refund the total registration fees paid by teams. 3.5 In case of a withdrawal from a team, the team will lose the 50% fees already paid. 4. FEES 4.1 The total registration fees are € 21,000. The registration fees include (for 3 crew members): - Return tickets in Economy class on Air Tahiti Nui departing from Paris, Auckland or Los Angeles; - The shipping and renting of a Diam24 od; - Full board accommodation on a 6 or 8 pax catamaran from Tahiti Yacht Charter - One night in a hotel in Tahiti + breakfast; - Opening and closing ceremonies; - One brand new gennaker tagged GP PDJ + Gennaker sponsors « Terevau »; - Transfer ticket from Bora Bora to Tahiti on Air Tahiti at the end of the event. Registration fees for one Guest includes: - On return ticket in Economy class on Air Tahiti Nui departing from Paris, Auckland or Los Angeles; - Full board accommodation on a 6 or 8 pax catamaran from Tahiti Yacht Charter; - One night in a hotel in Tahiti + breakfast; - Access to opening and closing ceremonies; - Transfer ticket from Bora Bora to Tahiti at the end of the event. 4.2 Registration will be taken into account only after the transfer of €10,500 to be made by December 1st, 2019. The balance will have to be transfer by January 4th, 2020. 4.3 The OA will give a GPS tracker to each team. Each team will give a deposit that will be given back at the end of the regatta when the tracker will be returned with no damage. 5. PROGRAM D1 - Feb 27th: Departure + Teams arrival in Tahiti D2 - Feb 28th: Registration - Training - Opening ceremony D3 - Feb 29th: Stadium + Raid TeMana Import Challenge > Matavai - Papenoo - Venus Point D4 - March 1st: Stadium + Raid Tahitian Cola Challenge > Venus Point - Papeete - Moorea
D5 - March 2nd: Air Tahiti Nui Challenge > Moorea - Huahine D6 - March 3rd: Day Off in Huahine D7 - March 4th: Raid Huahine - Raiatea D8 - March 5th: Stadium + Raid Raiatea - Bora Bora D9 - March 6th: Stadium + Raid Pacifique des Jeux Challenge > Bora Bora Lagoon + Ceremony D10 - March 7th: Day off + Return flight 6. Race Instruction Race instruction will be available by December 2019 7. THE COURSE 7.1 Stadiums (in-shore races) and raid (off-shore race between islands) will make the course. 7.2 During Stadium coefficient 0, teams will embark guest and press imposed by the OA. 7.3 Race course will be described in Road Book handed weeks before the start of the regatta. 8. PENALTIES A jury on water will be present. Modalities will be described in RI. An international jury will be appointed and present during the regatta. 9. SECURITY Each boat will have to be equipped with lifejackets, helmets and knives. The OA will have a « capsize kit » in case of a capsize of a boat. 10. RANKING 10.1 2 races will have to be run to set a general ranking. 10.2 No race will be cancelled from the general ranking. 11. RADIO COMMUNICATION Except in an emergency case, a team in race will not use any communication mean to contact a third-party for any information that could help the team. 12. PRIZE THE OA will award a prize in cash for the teams making the podium: €2,500 for the winner, €1,500 for 2nd and €1,000 for 3rd. The AO will a award a « Special Prize » 13. DECISION TO RACE
The decision to race or not the race is the responsibility of the competitors. Consequently, his or her decision to race or not to race will discharge the AO of any responsibilities in case of damage (material or physical).
