NORTH ISLAND SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP
2ND MARCH 2019
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The event will be run according to the Speedway New Zealand General Rules and
Regulations.
2. All Riders and Swingers must hold a current SNZ Inc. Licence and all vehicles must
comply with the current Speedway New Zealand Rule books and supplementary
regulations.
3. Noise level of 95dba will be enforced as measured on the track infield.
4. Smoking is prohibited in the dummy grid area and pit area at all times.
5. All entry forms must be accompanied by a track clearance.
6. The Promoter reserves the right to issue temporary numbers to avoid duplication.
Competitors will be advised of any such change to their racing number.
7. The promoter reserves the right to alter the format and closing date after consultation
with officials, if deemed necessary. You will be notified of any such change.
8. Technical Inspections – Please pay attention to Rules E2-3-1 to E2-3-5.
9. Sponsors advertising transfers may be affixed on each bike.
10. Telephone entries will be accepted prior to written entry. Entries close Wednesday 13th
January 2019.
11. In the event that you have already forwarded a entry form and discover that you are
unable to attend this meeting, you must notify us as soon as possible.
12. Alcoholic beverages must not be consumed in the Pits, anytime, before, during and
after the meeting. The bar in the Clubrooms will be open after racing.
13. For promotional use, please complete the drivers profile form and include a clear
coloured photograph of your sidecar or email photograph to
gisbornespeedway@xtra.co.nz
14. There is no entry fee for this Championship.FORMAT: Saturday 2nd March 2019 – Eliminations Bike Checking at the Gisborne Speedway Pits: 10.00am to 12noon Riders and Swingers Briefing: 12.15pm All drivers will assemble in the Club Rooms at 12.15pm for a briefing Practice: 1.00pm to 1.30pm Racing Starts: 3.00pm Saturday 2nd March 2019 – Finals Riders and Swingers Briefing: 5.15pm All drivers will assemble in the Club Rooms at 5.15pm for a briefing Racing Starts: 7.00pm Rain Out Date: 3rd March ADMISSION: The Rider, Swinger and one Crew member of the tow vehicle will be given free entry. Admission Prices are Adults $15 Child $8 Family $40 Gold Card $10 *Child 5 to 15 years inclusive 5 and under free ** Family (2 adults and up to 3 children, 5 to 15 years incl) NOTE: You cannot get more than 2 Adults in on a Family pass.
FORMAT
Saturday 2nd March 2019 – Eliminations (depends on number of entries) – each competitor will
race three elimination heats for points to determine the Top 16 Qualifiers for the North Island
Sidecar Championship. If points are tie for 16th, there will be a run off.
Saturday 2nd March 2019 – Finals the Top 16 Qualifiers will draw a number between 1 and 16
this will determine their grids as per the format below.

* Riders in consecutive heats are allowed 5 minutes.
Competitors will race for points allocated as 3, 2, 1 and the highest point’s scorer after all 20
heats have been completed will be the North Island Sidecar Champion for 2018/2019. In an
event that there is a tie on points a 4-lap run off will be held.
