CHANGES TO 02 LAWS OF THE GAME Each year the Laws of the Game are updated by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). A few changes were made this time around including: LAW 5 - temporary dismissals (sin-bins) may be used where specified in competition rules LAW 8 - kicker may stand in opponents’ half at kick-off LAW 11 - player in offside position can be penalised for gaining an advantage when ball rebounds or deflects off a match official LAW 12 - player stopping a promising attack in penalty area is not cautioned if offence was an attempt to play the ball Visit theifab.com for the latest version of the Laws

ANSWERS { { 1.2. ANSWERS 1. A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in. If the ball enters the opponents’ goal, a goal kick is awarded. If the ball enters the thrower’s goal, a corner kick is awarded. 2. The “flip throw” is legal, provided Law 15 is followed: (i) face field of play (ii) part of each foot on touchline or on ground outside touchline (iii) throw ball with both hands from behind and over head from the point where it left field of play. 3. If a player, while correctly taking a throw-in, intentionally throws the ball at an opponent in order to play the ball again but neither in a careless nor a reckless manner nor using excessive force, the referee allows play to continue.
