NATIONAL CADET CORPs “The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins” “I HAVE NO REGRETS, EVEN IF I BECAME A HUMAN AGAIN, I WILL JOIN THE ARMY AND FIGHT FOR MY NATION” –BY “SHAHEED CAPTAIN. VIJAYANT THAPPER VIR CHAKRA” This quote best reflects Captain Vijayant Thapar. He was an officer of the Indian Army of the regiment 2 Rajputana Rifles and was posthumously awarded The Vir Chakra for his audacious bravery during the Kargil War. He fell leading an attack of 2 Rajputana Rifles at Tololing (Black Rocks - KNOLL) during the Kargil War on 29 June 1999 at a young age of 22 years. He was a fourth generation officer in his family. Born on 26 Dec 1976 at Nangal Punjab, he studied at various schools in different cities and finally graduated from S.G.N.D Khalsa College, University of Delhi. He was a member of National Cadet Corps department of the college. This department was later renamed “VIJAYANT” after this intrepid hero. Thapar worked single-mindedly to fulfill his ambition to join the Forces. One day his hard work paid off. He was selected in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Who knew then, his name would be written in Gold on the walls of the same academy. Such was his ardor towards the motherland that the words in his last letter read, “I have no regrets, in fact even if I become a human again, I’ll join the army and fight for my nation.”
VIJAYANT National Cadet Corps of SGND Khalsa College has always been recognized as a responsible and disciplined organization in every aspect. Its dedication and commitment towards the nation and her interest has always been a priority for the organization. Vijayant NCC of the college is an army wing boys NCC company and starts enrolment of cadets in the last week of July every year through a physical test followed by GD-PIs. Cadets take part in various activities throughout the year i.e., Army Attachment Camp, IMA Attachment Camps, SSB Training Capsules, Parasailing Camps, Para Slithering Camps, Para Basic Courses, Mountaineering Camps, Trekking Expeditions, Rock Climbing Training, Thal Sainik Camp, Republic Day Camp, Youth Exchange Programme, National Integration Camps and Leadership Camps. NCC Boys Division of College is running under guidance of ‘Lt.(Dr.).Ghanshyam Bairwa’. It is a part of 2 Delhi Battalion NCC, Group ‘B’, Delhi Directorate.
Social Working & Activities “ALL INDIA SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAAN NCC RALLY” Date:-27/SEP/2019 Place:-Rajpath,India Gate Along with training of drill and weapons NCC cadets also actively take part in social activities like as of the ALL INDIA SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAAN NCC RALLY on 27/September/2019 with the slogan of “swach bharat abhiyan” cadets from all over India came together to show unity and aware citizens of India about “swachta”. “We can and we will make our india clean”. Vijayant NCC actively took participation in the event with great enthusiasm. “PLASTIC AWARENESS RALLY 2019” Date:- 09/OCT/2019 Place:- Karol Bagh, Rajender Place Vijayant NCC not only focuses on its own. The organization collaborates with others for the greater purpose. One of the major environment damaging material “plastic” has to be stopped which is why Vijayant NCC and NSS of SGND Khalsa College came together to organize Rally Against Plastic Use on 09/October/2019, the use of plastic and to control pollution taking pledge to stop use plastic. “A DROP OF BLOOD CAN SAVE MANY LIVES” Date:- 014/NOV/2019 Place:- 2 Delhi Battalion, ITI Pusa With the unbreakable bond with the nation Vijayant NCC participated in “BLOOD DONATION DRIVE 2019” organized by the armed forces medical services at 2nd Delhi Battalion on 14/ November/2019. Once again the patriots of the nation fulfill their promise proved to be true lovers of the nation.
“IF YOU HELP SOMEONE, YOU HELP EVERYONE” Date:- 03-05/FEB/2020 Place:- SGNDKC, Karol Bagh A social Service is a must for everyone and when it comes to do good for the Vijayant NCC never steps back. With taking the responsibility to help those in need Vijayant NCC organized “DONATION DRIVE 2020” contributing by everyone Vijayant NCC was able to donate huge amount of stationary, clothes, books and more. The smile that we saw on the faces of the children that was our real reward. “COVID WARRIORS” Date:- 28/MAR/2020 Place:- DELHI, INDIA Vijayant National Cadet Corps never rest aside when its nation is in need. As India submerged in the darkness of the corona-virus pandemic. Under “EX-NCC YOGDAN” Vijayant NCC were working day and night to serve and help the nation at its best. As their promise to serve, Vijayant NCC is always ready and hyped for the nation. Our cadets are 24x7 for the safety of the citizens along with the other warriors. Many of our cadets are engaged in making of home-made mask while others are working at frontline. In the time of need Vijayant NCC cannot relax its feet, severing the nation is our ultimate goal. “ALL DELHI DISTRICT SURVEY” Date:- 20/JUN/2020 Place:- DELHI, INDIA The time of need vijayant ncc never step’s back, as pandmic crisis rised in the nation every district was having hard time. 2 Delhi Battalion organized “DELHI DISTRICT SURVEY” in which Vijayant NCC took participation without fearing the growing disease with full safety. It not only helped to contain the disease but also protect those priceless souls.
“TREE PLANTATION PAKHWADA” Date:- 13-16/JUL/2020 Place:- NOTHERN & EASTERN STATES OF INDIA Humans are in everlasting bond with the nature. Trees, plants and all other natural habitats are in unseen bound. As today we deforest a large amount of forest on daily basis, it is responsibility also to help the nature to restore into its original place. Keeping this in mind National cadet Corps participated in “TREE PLANTATION PAKHWADA” in which every cadet plants trees in houses and nearby areas. Vijayant NCC took participation and planted trees and plants in many places. By this activity it will not only benefit us but it will benefit our future generations also. “POSTER MAKING ‘VOCAL FOR LOCAL’” Date:- 11/AUG/2020 Place:- ONLINE Since the 1991 new economic policy India has been largely modernizing in terms of foreign companies, who has been take over the market resulting in loss to domestic makers of the nation. To support the local makers Vijayant NCC organized “POSTER MAKING COMPETITION:-‘VOCAL FOR LOCAL’ ” which as always went wonderful, such an enthusiasm and love for the domestic maker did not only let us saw the bigger picture but made far more clear that why we need to be “atmanirbhar bharat”. It is now the time we show the world that India is not only depended on the foreign, in time we are self-sufficient and self-depended. “YOGA EXERCISE ACTIVITY” Date:- 1/SEP/2020 Place:- ONLINE During the lockdown, it is common to have mental stress, anxiety, depression etc. It becomes very important that along with the physical health we also take care of our mental health. Vijayant NCC always takes cares of its members, we organize “YOGA EXERCISE ACTIVITY” to reduce the stress and anxiety which is a common phenomenon among the youth and everyone took participation with great zeal of interest. Since the ancient Yoga have been a known worldwide and have been broadly taught in every part of the world. Cadets were felt refreshed and happy during and after the event which also was one of the objectives.
“POLIO EXERCISE CAMP” Date:- 21-26/SEP/2020 Place:- OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION Polio has been here from centuries and every child below the age of five is an easy target for the polio virus. Even in our childhood we have our polio drops. This year during the pandemic while our corona warriors are at the front, other national services are coming to assist each other. 2 Delhi Battalion organized “POLIO EXERCISE CAMP” at old delhi railway station which indeed a great opportunity for the NCC to again prove themselves as true national force. Vijayant NCC took participation with great enthusiasm and with precautions amid pandemic. “CANCER CAN BE CURED” Date:- 07/NOV/2020 Place:- ONLINE Cancer has been a deadly and prolonged disease happens when the cells in our body disagree to die in order to prevent the damage to the cells, tissue or even organs in the body. There are many myths regarding the disease which leads to the deterioration of the mental health which causes over 80% of the deaths in the cancer disease. National Cade Corps and the Care India NGO jointly organized the “NATIONWIDE CANCER AWARENESS DAY” on 7th November to aware the people about the cancer disease by sharing the posters of prevention and myths/facts. Vijayant NCC participated with full enthusiasm and made amazingly wonderful posters on Cancer awareness. The work was appreciated by everyone. It is our duty to prevent the nation from the negative and conditional myths that negatively affects the mindset of the people who are suffering from the disease. “CLUBBED YOUTH YAMUNA SWATCHTA ABHIYAN” Date:- 16/NOV/2020 Place:- YAMUNA RIVER, IRON BRIDGE Rivers are the astonishing wonders of the nature and as a species it is our obligation to keep them healthy and clean. The Yamuna River in Delhi has been an identity of the state but from past a decade the river and the surrounding has becoming the untidiest it has ever been in last 100 years. Undertaking the circumstances, the Minister of Home Affairs Organized “CLUBBED YOUTH YAMUNA SWATCHTA ABHIYAN” in which Red Cross Society, National Social Service, National Cadet Corps and several other societies and NGOs came together to clean Yamuna. Under 2 Delhi Battalion, the Vijayant NCC Participated in this with great enthusiasm and patriotism covering the ironic Iron Bridge and Neeli Chattri Temple cleaning over 600mtr of the surrounding of Yamuna River. The day was quite an amazing deed done by our cadets.
“EK KADAM SWACHTA KI OR” Date:- 07/DEC/2020 Place:- ITI PUSA, RAJENDER PLACE Clean India is the dream of the nation on which we are working without resting every single day. The year 2020 has been the toughest year we all have experience so far, as the Covid-19 disease spread across the world the hygiene of the environment. Undertaking the circumstances, 2 Delhi Battalion organized “SWATCH BHARAT & COVID AWARENESS RALLY” Covering the major areas of the Delhi. Vijayant NCC Participated in the rally with the aim of empowering people with the knowledge to fight the two evils that are responsible for the diseases and deaths of many lives. The day was spent with awaking the people and gives them strength to fight the evils of the nation. “ADOPTION OF STATUES” Date:- 25/FEB/2021 Place:- KAROL BAGH, SHASTRI NAGAR Great deeds done, makes the one to be unforgotten. There many great souls who have gave everything to make the living more human and justified. Remembering those souls government has erected many statues in their name, but as times flies they become unmaintained and abandoned. Vijayant NCC took the initiative and found out all those statues which are poorly maintained and took the maintenance in their hands. The “ADOPTION OF STATUES” is a doing deed for everyone and Vijayant NCC always finds ways to make changes in the world. They are the reason we live happily today, let’s not forget those sacrifices and maintain their legacy as of our own.
“DONATION DRIVE 2021” COLLABORATION:- “NANHE PAKSHI” NGO Date:- 07/MAR/2021 Place:- ASHOK VIHAR Year 2020-21 took a toll on everyone especially on daily wage families. No work, no education, no shelter, no medical help and no food, still however they survived but with a big chunk of happiness missing from their lives. Vijayant NCC was very well aware of situation those families are going through. Vijayant NCC collaborated with “NANHE PAKSHI” NGO and organized the biggest “DONATION DRIVE 2021” in the Aadpur area. This donation does not simply donate the needy things, we aimed to bring smile on the faces of those ‘nanhe pakshi’ (little birds). The event consist of many fun activities including singing, dancing, racing, poetry, shayeries, nukkad natak (local act) and many more. The day ended with a breeze of happiness among every soul watching the smile of those children which can never be erased from the hearts and minds of everyone. It is truly said “GIVING IS THE GREATEST ACT OF GRACE”.

As a motivated and determent Cadet.Ajay Singh (2012 pass out) was one of the well known among the Vijayant NCC and we are proud to have him. Lieutenant. Rishabh Pandey Lt.Rishabh Pandey (Armoured) Ex-NCC cadet Vijayant NCC SGND Khalsa college was history hons student and with his determination and hard work he became the first one to be selected in Offices Training Academy in 2015 from our organization. Batch Ex-Junior Under Officer Lt.Rishabh Sood (2016 pass out) got commission in the Indian Army from officer training academy in 2018, which become the biggest motivation for the whole organization. Lieutenant. Gajraj Singh Ex- Senior under Officer Lieutinent Gajraj Singh was 2017 Batch passout and got commissioned in the Indian Navy in 2019. It was such and versatile and proud moment that being an Army Wing it no objection of course that the youth is traied as the whole and can achieve heights of success in almost any field.
Lieutenant. Tarun Kumar Ojha Lieutenant Tarun Kumar Ojha, who got commissioned in the INDIAN ARMY on 07/09/2019 after successful completition of his training from Officers Training Academy, Chennai. Truly an inspiration for all of us. Vijyant NCC looks forward for his great motivation delivered to the future cadets. Lieutenant. Sahil Dutt Many walk on the path of becoming an army officer but only few are destined to achieve that. 2016 pass out Batch Ex-Cadet Lt. Sahul Dutt got commission in the Indian Army this from Officers Training Academy 2020 batch got pepped by the RO Lt. Gen RP Singh PVSM AVSM VSM Western Army Commander on 21st November2020. Vijayant NCC feels proud to add another name on the Golden Serving Board. Vijayant NCC warmly congrats and gives best wishes to Lt.Sahil Dutt for their new extraordinary journey. Vijayant NCC always looks ahead to provide the nation with best and extra-ordinary youth on the way of their success.

In every February/ annual fest of the Vijayant NCC was celebrated with great enthusiasm, with honor of having “The Lion of Ladakh “Col. Sonam Wangchuk” Mahaveer Chakra and “Col. VN Thapper”, continued with intense competitions and events. The celebration went eventful. Vijayant NCC was blessed to have such great souls. The event started with the arrival of guest; followed by the registration for the competition for which more than 20+ colleges came to compete. As the event started the competitions of the Guard of honor and Squad Drill competition. Likewise the every year the fest went great full as in 2019 five of our NCC cadets completed their RDC and PM RALLY one of our CDT got selected in Raj path marching republic day camp and 2 of them have successfully completed their RDC whereas our Cadet. Mayur Kumar was selected as the All India right marker in front row of NCC contingent of the Republic Day Parade. Cadets attended various camps in month of September like Army Attachment Camp held at Meerut Cant, where cadets live the army life, trained of army weapons and learn various army war tactics , In 2019 Some of our cadets selected for national camps like EBSB, RCTC , AMARKANTAK , NARMADA,UP, KOHIMA TRACKING CAMPS, ALC AND OTA. The event doesn’t end there as the mid of the day arises, a long awaited event began “Urban Warfare”. Our cadets practiced for months to achieve the perfection, the event was marvelous. As all the events and competition came to an end the thanks
giving and award giving ceremony begins. Warm thanks were given by Vijayant NCC to the fellow competitors, our cadets and our respected guest. The awards were distributed and a warm goodbye was said to everybody who gave their precious time for this event. “A REMARKABLE DAY WHICH CANNOT BE FORGOTTEN” “Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious.” WEBINAR ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT BY MAJ GEN VPS BHAKUNI (BY – VIJAYANT NCC) VIJAYANT NCC of SGND Khalsa College organized a webinar on youth development on 23rd June 2020, Tuesday from 11 am – 1 pm. The speaker at this event was MAJ GEN VPS Bhakuni who was one of the most dedicated officers in Indian army. MAJ GEN VPS Bhakuni, VSM, was commissioned into the Dogra Regiment in 1981. He served the nation for more than 37 years. The GEN officer has participated in various operations including operation VIZ, OP PAWAN, operation RAKSHAK and many more. VPS Bhakuni sir is not only a reputed army officer but also a guider and a true mentor. Event started with a welcome speech by CPL Saksham Deswal and after that our ANO sir LT.(Dr.) Ghanshyam Bairwa took hold of this great event. After welcoming VPS Bhakuni sir ANO sir gave a warming speech and then by wasting no time asked VPS Bhakuni sir to start with and all the cadets welcomed sir with a high josh. VPS Bhakuni sir started with a high spirit and first gave a glimpse to cadets of his own army life by showing some of his old photographs and telling stories of his own experience in army. Sir even shared some incidents which showed that how even army follow the policy of unity in diversity. Then sir started with history of India and told cadets that how powerful our country was. He gave description of Maryann
and Gupta Empire when our country had one of the strongest army in the world. And as it was not a monotonous webinar so sir even asked question to cadets and every cadet took part in this wonderful interaction very actively. Soon after this VPS Bhakuni sir told cadets that actually how prosperous and adventurous army life is and why one should opt army as career which increased the curiosity of cadets in the webinar. Then sir came to the main point for which he was mainly there and he started with the SSB process which is believed to be the hardest obstacle in every defense exam. Sir guided cadets that how they should prepare themselves for SSB and what is the procedure in 5 days SSB program. Sir even told cadets about his own SSB training center and how he himself prepare and motivate youth to join army. Cadets were this much in interaction with VPS Bhakuni sir that they even didn’t know when 2 hours passed away. Then at end Q&A session took place in which CQMS Sudharshan Jha asked questions from Bhakuni sir on behalf of all cadets present there in the webinar. VPS Bhakuni sir answered each and every question very enthusiastically. Then CPL Yashwant Sangwan gave vote of thanks to Bhakuni sir for sparing this much time for young cadets and at last ANO sir ended the webinar by thanking MAJ GEN VPS Bhakuni sir and asking cadets to fill feedback form. In total about 70 cadets attended this webinar. It was indeed a wonderful experience.
“JAI JAWAN, JAI KISAN” “SPEECH COMPETITION ON TOPIC” ‘RELEVANCE OF SHASTRI JI’S TEACHING IN 20TH CENTAURY’ 2nd October is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and lal bahadur shashtri. Vijayant NCC organized a general “SPEECH COMPETITION” ON TOPIC ‘RELEVANCE OF SHASTRI JI’S TEACHING IN 20TH CENTAURY’. the event went absolutely great with having Dr. Priyanka Chanana madam history professor of SGND kahlsa college. The event started with introductory video on Lal Bahadur Shastri ji’s life, then our Cadet. Randeep showed a PPT on Shashtri ji’s biography his childhood, struggle in life, his every movement of life was inspirational. Vijayant NCC has amazingly talented cadets and our Cadet. Satyam kumar Pandey recited a beautiful self composed poem on Shashtri ji and L/Cpl Akshay Kumar also presented his own poem which was also fantastic. After the performance of our cadets we started our main event “Speech Competition” and every participant gave their best and we have our winners:- Winner:- Miss. Charu Kaur Arora, runner up:- Mister Akarsh Kumar.
