First day of school ▪ Miami Coral Park High School will commence physical classes on Wednesday August 17, 2022 ▪ Classes begin at 7:20 AM until 2:20 PM ▪ The bell schedule will be posted on our website at mcpshs.net ▪ Due to possible traffic on the first day of school, students should attempt to be in the building no later than 7:00 AM. ▪ A 1st period student list will be posted on our website by Tuesday August 16th.
MCPSHS School Uniforms ▪ Navy blue, white or gold polo style shirts. ▪ Spirit t-shirts (will be available in the Activities Office) ▪ Navy blue or khaki pants. ▪ Navy blue, gold, white or grey outerwear (sweatshirts). ▪ Closed shoes; no sandals or open heels. ▪ No hats/caps or other headwear is allowed.
▪ Students are expected to: ▪ Attend school everyday ▪ Arrive to school and class on time ▪ Attend all classes as scheduled ▪ Be prepared to start classes on time
▪ Daily school attendance will be taken every scheduled school day during the students first class of the day by his/her classroom teacher. Students are to be counted in attendance to school only if they attend the class. ▪ Tardy: A student is considered tardy to school if the student is not present at the moment the attendance is taken for the first class assigned. ▪ Class attendance: Class attendance will be taken at the start of every class. A student must be in class and in their seats ready to learn by the time the bell rings. ▪ Credit Withheld: A student’s credit may be withheld if they have the following: ▪ 5 or more absences in a semester course ▪ 10 or more absences in a yearly course.
PROCEDURES FOR PARENTS ▪ Absences shall be reported to the student’s enrolled school by the TO SUBMIT AN parent/legal guardian no later than five (5) days from the date of the EXCUSED absence. ADMIT/NOTE TO SCHOOL
▪ VIA Email: Parents can send an email to 7271attendance@dadeschools.net ▪ The email must include: ▪ 1. Students Full Name ▪ 2. MDCPS ID Number ▪ Date of absence ▪ Reason for absence The email subject line should read “Excused Admit”
▪ Via the Parent Portal or Mobile APP ▪ A link will be available in the Parent Portal and MDCPS mobile app for parents to submit admits 3 WAYS FOR A directly to the school. You will be able to attach PARENT/LEGAL documentation. GUARDIAN TO • In Person SUBMIT AN Parents who wish to submit documentation in ADMIT (CONT.) person may do so at the school’s attendance office. * Failure to report and explain the absence shall result in an unexcused absence.

▪ For students who need to check out a device, mobile distribution will begin during the second week. ▪ Parents must fill out the Mobile Device Agreement through the parent portal. This agreement will also be posted on our website. This must be completed before a device will be distributed. ▪ Technology Fees: ▪ Free Lunch $5 ▪ Reduced Lunch $10 ▪ All Others $20 Students should come prepared with their mobile device agreement and cash payment beginning Monday 8/22.

▪ Everyone must take a Florida Virtual School course. ▪ Passing score on the English / Language Arts Assessment. ▪ Passing Score on Algebra 1 EOC ADDITIONAL ▪ Participation in all EOC GRADUATION assessments including Biology, REQUIREMENTS Geometry, U.S. History. This will count for 30% of the final grade. ▪ Minimum 2.0 GPA. ▪ 5 Community Service Hours.
