Delivering food to The Rio Grande Food Project! Thank you FPC! For your amazing faithfulness to this mission! Study on the Book of Romans: Cornerstone of Our Christian Beliefs We will be commencing an adult study on Paul's Letter to the Romans starting Palm Sunday, April 2 and for six Sundays thereafter (excluding Easter) in the Kerygma Room starting at 9:45 AM. Of all the epistles written or attributed to Paul, Romans contains the most systematic discussion of Christian beliefs and theology. Many of the great Christian beliefs are discussed in Romans: sin, the law of Moses, salvation -- both Abraham's and ours, faith, grace, justification, sanctification, glorification and God's unbreakable love. The Book of Romans has had an oversized impact on the church and theologians for almost two thousand years. It jolted Martin Luther into starting the Reformation against Rome. Sprinkled throughout our liturgy on Sunday mornings are direct quotes or references to concepts contained within Romans. We will be using N.T. Wright's book of Paul for Everyone: Romans to guide us in this study. Copies will be made available for purchase in the church office. Stephen Rhoades will be leading the discussion. Come and see what gifts for you this letter contains. Family Promise Save the date for a special event! On Sunday, April 30th Family Promise will present its 17th Annual "Sweet Jazz" concert. This major fundraiser for one of our mission partners will take place from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Sandia Presbyterian Church. Attendees will enjoy great jazz music as well as a silent auction and wonderful desserts. More details will be provided soon.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) A presentation on the work of the CIT in Albuquerque Police Force will be provided to First Presbyterian Church following the 11:00 AM Worship Service. The presentation will be held in Fellowship Hall on April 16 and a free lunch will be provided for those attending. A sign-up sheet will be available in the church office for those wanting to have the lunch. The Crisis Intervention Team's goal is to provide an effective response to situations involving people who might be mentally ill or in crisis. The Crisis Intervention Team works with people in the Albuquerque Community who exhibit chronic behavior patterns that may pose risks to themselves or others. One of the team's primary goals is to ensure that situations involving people in crisis are defused so that force may be avoided and proper medical attention or referral to an appropriate follow-up agency is provided. The team also works closely with the mental health care provider network to help identify deficiencies in our health care programs.
