MERRILLVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS January 24 , 2022 LUNCH Everyone must have money in their skyward account in order to purchase any extras such as ice cream, cookies, chips, etc. Directions to Add Funds: Log in Skyward- Use drop down box Home- Click Ed. Access Plus- Click Food Service- Click My Food Service- Click arrow next to your name - Make online payment. DUE TO SHORTAGES THE MENU MAY BE SUBSTITUTED
The Galley serving line in the freshman cafe will be closed until further notice. Salads and sandwiches and all snack items will be available in the regular lines in the freshman cafeteria. “V” – Vegetarian # - Contains Pork Monday’s Lunch Main lines- Cheeseburger, Pepperoni Calzone, Dominos Cheese Pizza “V” . Tuesday ’s Breakfast Yogurt Parfait “V”, Chicken Sausage & Cheese Biscuit Sand., cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Chip Waffle, Bagel, Cereal Bar/ Yogurt, Pop tart and Drink. The Food Service department will begin serving cold grab and go breakfast and lattes out of the Pirate Cove beginning Jan 3. ANNOUNCMENTS: Senior class meeting: Today after school from 3:30-4:30 room C115. If you cannot meet in person, we will have the Google meet open. Contact Ms Escobedo or Ms Drosos with any questions. Do you play video games? There will be a call-out meeting for any eSport gamers next Monday January 31st @ 3:30 in the Freshman Lecture Hall. The National Honor Society - MHS Chapter strives to give practical meaning to the Society’s standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character. These four ideals are considered as the basis for selection. The NHS strives to recognize the total student—one who excels in all of these areas. We have begun the process for selecting junior candidates. Emails have been sent to students who meet
these ideals. If you received an NHS candidate letter and are interested in joining the National Honor Society - MHS Chapter, please complete the Junior Candidate Information Form and return it to Ms. Lobody in AB105 or by email no later than Friday, Jan. 28, 2022. Juniors who did not receive a letter and form via email, who meets the membership requirements below and wishes to seek membership, please see Ms. Lobody. Scholarship: 3.5 cumulative grade average (unweighted) Leadership: demonstrated by activities Service: demonstrated by activities Character: demonstrated by teacher evaluations PERMANENT INK MEETING The PERMANENT INK SLAM POETS' CLUB will meet to discuss upcoming field trips to Chicago and practice from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. today (Monday) after school in room 9B101 in the Freshman Wing. The Gay Straight Alliance meets weekly on Wednesdays after school at 3:15 in E205 with Ms Kalafatis, new members always welcome! After-School Detentions Students after school detentions are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:20 pm-3:50pm in the main Lecture hall. Bring study materials and DO NOT come late. If you miss it you will be issued a Friday School. Athletics Boys Basketball Tickets Students! This week starting tomorrow January 25th, the Boys Basketball team has a huge conference matchup with the Valparaiso Vikings! The first 75 students who purchase a presale ticket between tomorrow and Friday before 3pm will receive a complimentary Chick- Fil-A gift card redeemable for a free sandwich or nuggets with your ticket purchase! Ticket price is $6 and will be sold in the MHS athletic office between 8am-3:30pm.
