Band and String Supply Information Grade 5 (Only Students Who Have Signed up for an Instrument) We encourage parents to rent or buy an instrument from a local music store to ensure that you have a quality instrument. Many local music stores provide hassle free maintenance and repairs as needed. We would like to warn you against purchasing a sub-$250 instrument from Amazon, warehouse clubs, or department stores. In our experience, these instruments rarely last the entire year without bending, breaking, or experiencing other issues that make them difficult to play or in need of expensive repairs. Please know that string instruments come in a variety of sizes. Students must be measured at a music store to ensure they get the right size string instrument.
