Once you arrive at Camp, one leader should check in at the Dining Facility with Health Forms and medications. Once you
have checked in, you will receive a schedule of events and a map indicating locations of all the various events.

STEM participants will have a slightly different schedule
than the Saturday Maple Syrup Days participants, so be
sure not to mix the two up.

STEM & Weekend participants will be directed by staff to
their cabins. Troops may be split up to follow Youth
Protection guidelines, but we will try to keep everyone
together if possible. Campers stay in Albright Lodge,
Saffran Lodge, or Torinus Lodge. Campsites can be
available if your unit prefers. If you intend on staying in a
campsite, please contact Jodi ahead of time .

Once settled in, you can simply get comfortable and play
some board games or take a stroll around Camp. There will
be a Welcome Meeting on Friday night in the Dining
Facility to help you and the staff prepare for the weekend activities. After the meeting, fun STEM related activities take
place in the Dining Facility.

Saturday Morning

The Maple Syrup Days program is based on a Round Robin Concept, meaning you will be divided up into various groups
and given a starting station. Every half hour, the whistle will blow, your signal to move to your next station on your
schedule. At breakfast on Saturday, all participants will be given their schedule for the day. This will include dividing
everyone up into groups. All effort will be made to keep Troops together.

Meals

All participants will be provided Saturday Breakfast and Lunch. STEM Weekend Participants will be provided Dinner on
Saturday Night, Ice Cream Social on Saturday night and Breakfast on Sunday Morning.

If you have food special needs or allergies, be sure to let the Maple Syrup Days Director know 3 weeks prior to event.

Leaders

Before leaving, a leader should check out with the Maple Syrup Days Registration desk to collect patches and your maple
syrup. We ask that all leaders and Senior Patrol Leaders complete program evaluation and return to the Maple Syrup
Days Registration Desk before you leave Camp.

The Maple Syrup Days Program is not a Show & Tell program, but rather is a Show and DO. DO stress to all campers
that cotton clothing is not appropriate for outdoor winter activities. Cotton holds moisture and your body cools quicker
with wet cotton than with nothing at all. Encourage all Scouts and Leaders to dress in layers. Too much physical
activity can cause perspiration which creates more moisture buildup in clothing than exterior snow. Don’t over exercise.
Ventilate and loosen clothing as needed. Change wet layers before they soak others AND Tennis Shoes are not winter
boots. You will be outside 80% of your weekend.

There will be several opportunities during the day to be inside and warm up.

                                     Special Diet Request Form
The staff at our Maple Syrup Days Weekend want to provide the best experience it can for every camper.
Facilities and budgets limit the possibilities but a sincere effort will be made to accommodate campers in your
Unit with special dietary needs.
We need to know who these campers are and what is needed. The more detailed information the family can
provide, the better we will be able to help. After completing the request form, we also need the Unit and the
camper to identify themselves to our kitchen staff and to cooperate in helping us meet the request. Problems
encountered should be addressed at once to the camp leadership.
Conditions at this Weekend Camp are such that we need time to prepare and to be sure we can meet the
needs of our campers. Please let us know at least 3 weeks in advance what special needs exist in your
Unit. If we do not receive the form on time, we cannot guarantee that your needs will be met. Special diets
that are planned in advance include; Vegetarian, Kosher and diets based on allergies.
