Beans: For all varieties, directly plant in the soil to a depth of 1 inch, 2-3 inches apart after the threat of frost has past. Bush (approx 30 seeds/ pack) Dragon Tongue – beautiful snap bean. Beans are a pale yellow with purple streaking throughout. Allow beans to get large before harvesting. The larger beans are less woody than other bean varieties. Harvest as a large snap bean. Days to maturity: 70 SOLD OUT FOR 2020 Beets: direct seed every couple of weeks from late April to early July to enjoy beets all season long. (approx 250 seeds/pack) Chioggia - a favorite Italian heirloom. Dark pink exterior surrounds the brilliant candy striped interior. Great addition to a fresh roaster salad. Days to maturity: 55-60 Feuer Krugel - a nice uniform classic red beet from Germany. Name translates to Fire Ball. Days to maturity: 55-60 Touchstone Gold – a very nice golden beet bred by John Navazio. Golden beets have a slightly less earthy flavor than red beets. Days to maturity: 55-60 Broccoli: It is best to start seedling indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting and transplant beginning of May to early July. Plant transplants 2 feet apart for ideal growth. (approx 100 seeds/pack) De Cicco - An old Italian variety producing a small head with several side shoots. Harvest main head at 3” and then harvest side shoots all summer long.

(approx 500 seed/pack) Scarlet Nantes - A well adapted strong heirloom variety of carrot. Has been grown in our conditions for over 50 years. Lovely flavor with blunt tips. Carrots grow to 8”. Days to maturity: 60-70 Purple Dragon – dark red purple exterior contrasts with the bright orange core. Spicy sweet flavor, great for snacking. Days to maturity: 60-80 Corn: Sow seeds directly in soil after threat of frost have past. Plant in blocks rather than in single rows (for example 3’ x 3’ block versus 9’ row). This will increase the pollination of kernels on the ears of corn. (approx 50 seeds/pack) Strawberry Popping Corn- Produces stalks around 4-5’ with 2-4 ears per stalk. Corn is a beautiful dark pink. Ears are tiny, 2-4” and are shaped like a strawberry. Days to maturity: 100- 110

Or can direct seed at 1 inch depth and 1- 2 foot spacing after threat of frost has past. Many cucurbits can be susceptible to transplant shock and can grow fine with both methods. Cantaloupe (approx 35 seeds/ pack) Collective Farm Women – A fabulous musk melon with a unique white flesh. Outer skin turns from green to orange when ripe. Produces softball sized fruit. Days to maturity: 65-70 Cucamelon (approx 25 seeds/pack) Cucamelon - AKA mouse melon or Mexican sour gherkin. Small cucumber-like fruit with shaped of a watermelon. Crunchy skin with a juicy pop. Start seeds indoor 2-4 weeks before planting after threat of frost has past. Days to maturity: 70 Cucumber (approx 25 seeds/ pack) Shintokiwa – an excellent Japanese slicing cucumber. Produces nice straight 20-30 cm fruit. Start seeds indoor 2-3 weeks before planting. Days to maturity: 60-65 SOLD OUT for 2020 Sumter – A phenomenal pickling cucumber. Produces high yields. Produces personal sized fruit that is great for roasting or for making soups. Days to maturity: 90 SOLD OUT FOR 2020 Watermelon (approx 25 seeds/ pack) Sugar Baby – delicious red flesh protected by a very dark rind. Produces smaller sized water melons great for sharing. Days to maturity: 75-80 Orangeglo - medium sized fruit with bright orange flesh. Deliciously sweet. Vines are semi-resistant to wilt and insect predation. Days to maturity: 85- 90 Eggplant: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and transplant after threat of frost has past. (approx 25 seeds/ pack) Black Beauty – a classic glossy dark purple, bell shaped eggplant. Great for grilling, making dips or eggplant parmesan. Days to maturity: 80-90

Start seeds indoor 4-6 weeks before desired transplant date. (approx 100 seeds/pack) Ever Green Long White Bunching - A very hardy non bulbing green onion. Overwinters very well in our Northern climate. Greens: For leaf lettuces, arugula and mustard– gently sprinkle seeds at a depth of ½ inch at the end of April or early May and then again in mid August. For large amounts of lettuce plant multiple rows one week apart. For head lettuces and spinach – it is best to start seedling indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting. Start transplant beginning of May. Plant at a spacing of 1 foot. (approx 500 seeds/ pack) Mixed Greens (approx 500 seeds/pack) Bear Root Mixed Greens - A mix made from a variety of our heirloom greens including arugula, mustard, and tatsoi. A rainbow of colours. Best grown in spring and fall. DTM:35-40 Arugula (approx 500 seeds/pack) Astro – less lobed than wild arugula and has a milder flavor. Great for adding to a salad mix or enjoy on its own. Days to maturity: 50 Lettuce (approx 500 seeds/pack) Bear Root Lettuce Mix - A mix made from a selection of our heirloom leaf lettuces. A rainbow of colours. Best grown in spring and fall. Days to maturity: 50-55 Cimmaron Romaine - A red romaine head lettuce with a creamy yellow heart. Slow to bolt. Days to maturity: 60 SOLD OUT for 2020 Forellenschluss – known as a leaf and romaine type lettuce. Produces elongated red speckled green leaves. Roughly translates to mean speckled trout. Days to maturity 60 SOLD OUT for 2020 Jester – Similar to the green rapids and the red sail. Produces large leaves that are green and with red speckles. Slower to bolt. SOLD OUT FOR 2020

Slow to bolt. Days to maturity: 60 Mustards (approx 500 seeds/pack) Scarlet Frills – Dark red frilled leaves will add a nice spice and colour to any salad mix. Days to maturity: 30 Herbs: Direct seed into the ground mid May to early June or start indoors a few weeks before last expected frost and transplant out. For herbs it is best to avoid planting in the peak heat of the season. Dill Bouquet - Most popular variety of dill. Produces large seed heads and numerous branches. Great for use in pickling. Days to maturity 40-45 Genovese Basil - Produces beautiful 24” tall plants with numerous branches and leaves. Ideal for making pesto for adding a fresh flavor on pizza. Slower to bolt than other varieties. Days to maturity: 65-70 SOLD OUT FOR 2020 Santo Cilantro - Slow bolting, grown for its leaves. Start seeds indoor 4 weeks before desired transplant date. Thin to 1 foot spacing. Scarlet- Beautiful purple curly leaves grow on a 2-3’ plant. Fantastic as baby or bunching. Days to maturity: 55 SOLD OUT for 2020 Westlander – Kale A beautiful curly green kale. Very cold tolerant. Produces large flavorful leaves on dense plants. Start seeds indoor 4-6 weeks before last frost. DTM: 50-55 Peas: Directly seed at a depth of 1 inch and at a spacing of 2-3 inches. For best results plant seeds end of April to early May and then again end of August for fall peas. Peas tend not to perform well under the heat of the summer. Peas (approx 30 seeds/pack) Champion of England – A delicious shelling pea. Requires 3-4 ft of trellising. Plants produce high yields of large pods for shelling. Peas are ideal for fresh eating or soups and salads. Days to maturity: 65-70

Requires trellising. Days to maturity: 60 Yakumo - extraordinary large snow pea with very tender pods and delicate purple-blue flowers. Plants do not get as tall as other pea varieties, but trellising is recommended. Days to maturity: 65 Super Sugar – an excellent producing snap pea. Vines can reach 5 to 7’, requires trellising. Days to maturity: 60 SOLD OUT FOR 2020 Peppers: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last expected frost and then transplant after the full threat of frost has past. Plant at 1-2 foot spacing. Sweet (approx 25 seeds/pack) Lipstick - Very sweet 4” long heart shaped fruits. Ripens from green to red. Delicious fresh and in sauces and salsas. Early to mature, produces high yields. Days to maturity: 75 Lively Sweet Orange Italian – a lovely sweet orange pepper. Fruit are 15-20 cm long and tapered. A great partner with the Stocky Red Roaster. Great for roasting and eating right off the plant. Fruit are 15-20 cm long and tapered. Pairs nicely with the Lively Sweet Orange Italian. Days to maturity: 85 Yankee Bell – a great bell pepper for northern growers. Ripens from green to red. Early to mature and produces great yields. Days to maturity: 85 Hot (approx 25 seeds/pack) Early Jalapeno – a Jalapeno that is perfect for northern growers. Produces an abundant of beautiful smooth green peppers. Great for pickling or stuffing. Days to maturity: 60 Hot Hungarian - A prolific hot pepper producing an abundant of medium sized fruit starting light green ripening orange to a dark red. Mild heat with nice flavour. Days to maturity: 70 Shishito – A Japanese heirloom which produces high yields of 3” long fruit. Great as an appetizer or side dish. Fruit ripens slowly from green thru orange to red. Ideal to grow in a planter or indoors. Days to maturity: 100 *Note: only 10 seeds per package. Tomatoes: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost and then transplant after full threat of frost has past. Plant with 2 feet spacing. To avoid blight during the season, properly trellis and prune the tomato plants. (approx 25 seeds/pack) Paste Tomatoes Amish Paste – a solid heirloom paste tomato. Produces medium to large red fruit. Tomatoes have very few seeds great for sandwiches. Days to maturity: 75 SOLD OUT for 2020 Fresh Eating Garden Peach - Produces medium sized round fruit with a unique fuzzy exterior. Ripens to a nice yellow with peach hues. Great for salads and preserves. Keeps well. Days to maturity: 75 Green Zebra - Named for its green colour with lighter stripes running up and down the sides of the fruit. Delicious multipurpose tomato. Days to maturity: 78 Lava Flow – produces medium orange fruit with red and dark orange streaks at maturity. Tomatoes have thicker flesh, but are very juicy. Days to maturity: 80 SOLD OUT FOR 2020 Taxi - Determinate variety. Produces high yields of medium round yellow fleshed fruit. Ideal for short season growers. Great flavor for fresh eating. Fruit forms and ripens in clusters. Fruit ripens from the bottom up. Days to maturity: 70 Sunrise Bumblebee - a great pairing with the pink bumblebee. Yellow and orange ping pong ball fruit have red and dark orange streaks throughout. Days to maturity: 70 Whippersnapper - Determinate cherry variety. Early to mature. Produces high yield of small dark pink fruit. Great for planters or hanging baskets. Days to maturity: 55 Yellow Pear - Very hardy plants producing numerous small yellow coloured pear shaped fruit. A very flavourful cherry great for salads and snacking. SOLD OUT for 2020 Zinnia - taller plants produce numerous large colorful long lasting flowers. Attractive to pollinators. Excellent in both fresh cut and dried bouquets. Bright Light Cosmos - Brilliant yellow to reddish orange single flowers. Great attraction for bumblebees and other beneficial pollinators. Plants grow to ~1m tall. Start indoors 2-4 weeks before last frost. Autumn Beauty - Sun Flowers 1.5 -2m tall stalks with multiple smaller heads showcasing a range of yellows, oranges, and reds.
