The Metropolitan Sanitation Management Investment Project (MSMIP) aims to reduce social
and environmental impacts in cities by increasing public access to wastewater management service
systems. The Makassar sewerage B2 project of approximately 81.716 km will use the road in the service
area consisting of 41 wards in 6 subdistricts (Mariso, Mamajang, Tamalate, Ujung Pandang, Makassar,
Bontoala Subdistrict). This centralized wastewater management system in Makassar City will serve
9,900 household connections and 4,100 commercial connections.
The purposes and objectives of the preparation of the Temporary Social Impact During
Construction are for:
a) Understanding the social risks and impacts during construction activities on business activities along
the roads under construction so that mitigation can be carried out,
b) Managing social and environmental impacts during construction so that the impacts can be

increased is about IDR 200,000 per day during construction due toincreased buyers from project workers. During construction, Bu Risna's
shop was open.
Mitigations that have been done in Jl. Hati Mulia:
• Material cleaning and watering
Jl. Hati Mulia aftter road recondition / asphalting• Contractor provided temporary access to the shops/business place during the works and
implement traffic management and install road sign at construction site so it will not disturb
existing traffic.
• Contractor conducted socialization with the community before construction start and
informed about project purpose and benefits, impacts and mitigation.2. Jalan Beruang

Conclusion 1. During construction, there has been disturbance of accessibility to business areas, public facilities and residential areas. 2. Other construction impacts on residents near by construction areas are dust, noise increased and damage to existing roads. 3. The business owner has been interviewed, consists of 19 females and 21 males, generally in the productive age (20-50 years), but there are 3 people aged over 60 years. Education is generally high school and there are several bachelor degrees. Some of them sell for a period of 10-19 years and some are under 4 years and they sell permanently at that location. The business owner month income around IDR. 3.000.000 – 120.000.000. They live in the selling location. Some of their houses are around the business location. For more detail, see in Appendix 1 4. Business activities along the roads under construction remain open, with the income of the business owner relatively the same as before the construction and some restaurant, coconut ice and Groceries business owners have experienced an increase in income due to additional buyers from project workers. 5. During construction, the contractor has carried out mitigation such as watering the dusty area, providing an access road, closing the open cut excavation in one day so that the road above the excavated area can be used again, installing traffic signs, repairing and reconditioning damaged roads, transporting waste materials construction/garbage to the landfill and immediately transporting the excavated soil and disposed of it to the disposal area. The contractor has conducted socialization to the community along the construction site before the construction started by explaining the objectives, project benefits then the types of impacts that will arise and the contractor's plans for mitigation, schedule for the transportation of materials and equipment as well as traffic management that will be carried out and the contractor also provides media for public complaints, etc. 6. During this reporting period, there is no complaints recorded according to info from PR Specialist.
