A MESSAGE FROM THE I.C.B.C. CO-CHAIRS It is a pleasure to introduce you to the oldest, longest running, and most prestigious undergraduate business case competition in Canada – the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.). Hosted annually at the Smith School of Business (SSB) at Queen’s University, I.C.B.C. has become a benchmark of excellence for the brightest and most promising students from top business schools globally. Having been founded in 1978, I.C.B.C. 2019 marks our competition’s 41st anniversary. I.C.B.C. has relied on the generous support of its valued corporate partners and sponsors in order to unite, enrich, and challenge the competitors. As part of I.C.B.C. 2019, you will have the unique opportunity to gain ongoing exposure via three I.C.B.C. channels: Queen’s Case Competition (QCC), Preliminary Round of I.C.B.C., and I.C.B.C. Final Weekend. QCC is the premier internal competition for Queen’s Commerce students vying to represent the Smith School of Business as I.C.B.C. competitors. Following QCC, I.C.B.C. competitors compete in the Preliminary Round of the competition, with the top six teams of each stream being qualified and invited to I.C.B.C. Final Weekend. Due to the intensity of the competition, it comes as no surprise that I.C.B.C. has been labeled the “Vanier Cup” of case competitions by The Globe and Mail. By partnering with I.C.B.C., your organization will be provided exceptional exposure to these future business leaders and may continue their journey as potential members of your firm. On behalf of the Commerce Society at SSB and the I.C.B.C. Executive Team, we are honoured to invite you to support this important avenue of business education. Please take a few moments to browse the opportunities that I.C.B.C. is proud to offer for the upcoming competition. Thank you for your consideration and we hope to see you at QCC and I.C.B.C. Final Weekend. Please do not hesitate to contact us or the sponsorship team if you have any further questions. Warm Regards, Zooni Khosla & Tessa Wong I.C.B.C. 2019 Co-Chairs cochair@icbcqueens.ca I.C.B.C. 2019 Sponsorship Package | 3
A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR As Executive Director of the Queen’s Commerce Program, I have been exposed to the many talents and skills of Queen’s Commerce students. These talents and skills are the foundation of the largest and best student-run business case competition, Queen’s Inter-Collegiate Business Competition. This competition brings together the brightest students from top business schools from across North America and around the world. The student organizing committee devotes countless hours to the successful execution of this world-class case competition. While the results of the students’ preparation are truly impressive, the quality of I.C.B.C. simply cannot happen without significant support from faculty and students at participating schools, such as yours. Over the past four decades, competitors have been challenged by the cases presented throughout the competition in both the qualifying and Final Weekend rounds. As the largest Canadian case competition, I.C.B.C. offers eight dynamic events: accounting, business policy, debating, ethics, finance, human resources, management of information systems and marketing. The wonderful reputation that I.C.B.C. has earned through the drive of each group of student organizers highlights the commitment and focus that is put forth. I am proud of the wonderful reputation I.C.B.C. has earned throughout its more than 40 years running and it is my hope that your school will consider entering teams in many, if not all, eight I.C.B.C. competitive events. Thank you for your interest and support of the competition. We look forward to meeting you in Kingston at the Final Round of I.C.B.C. in January 2019. Regards, Lori Garnier Executive Director, Queen’s Bachelor of Commerce Program The Stephen J.R. Smith School of Business I.C.B.C. 2019 Sponsorship Package | 4
About I.C.B.C. Now entering its 41st year, the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.) is Canada’s premier undergraduate business case competition. Founded in 1978 by Geoff Arnoldi, I.C.B.C. began as a one-day competition hosting ten competing universities and only three events: Business Policy, Debate, and a computer-simulated Business Game. Throughout the years, I.C.B.C. has grown to become an internationally recognized name that hosts over 100 competitors from the top business schools across Canada as well as the globe. The overall goal of the competition is to create an intellectually enriching environment, giving students the opportunity to tackle complex business problems while receiving feedback from corporate professionals, ultimately helping to unite, enrich and challenge the business leaders of tomorrow.
