Successful Learner Habits We are explicitly teaching our students the skills they need to be the best learners they can be. PD/H/PE • Fundamental Movement Skills of catch, run, jump and balance are explicitly taught during sport time. Planned fitness activities are incorporated daily and each class has a 40 minute fitness session with a specialist teacher. • Sports uniform and running shoes to be worn on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all classes. Sport for all Kindergarten classes is on Tuesday. Creative Arts Creative Arts is integrated throughout all Key Learning Areas. Students also participate in an 80 minute creative arts session with a specialist teacher once a week. • Dance • Music • Visual Arts • Drama
Additional Programs • Library – students attend library lessons every week with either Mrs Paton, Mrs Bryce or Mrs Katopau. • Library bags are required to borrow books. All Kindergarten classes have library on Wednesday.
Scripture • Scripture classes are held weekly on a Wednesday. • Classes include Catholic, Anglican, Islamic, Sikh, Buddhist and Hindu. • Children not attending one of these groups are supervised by a teacher during scripture time.
Arrival/Departure • Arrival to school is between 8.30am and 9.00am. Supervision in the playground commences at 8.30am. KTOOSH services are available if you need to drop your child before 8.30am. • Students are to place their bags in their class lines on the basketball court. On Monday mornings, the whole school line up on the handball courts for a short morning assembly. • Afternoon departure is at 3.00pm. Students will be walked by their teacher to their class area on the basketball court for parents to collect.

Healthy Lunchboxes • Fruit Break – small fruit or vegetable snack that can be eaten during class and doesn’t make a mess. • Recess snacks that students can open and don’t take too long to eat. • Healthy options for lunch that can be eaten easily. Not too many items to choose from. • Please be aware that there are a number of students with allergies – particularly nuts and eggs.
Birthdays • If your child wishes to share their birthday celebration, please send along individual items such as cupcakes (store-made only at present), donuts, frogs etc. Cupcakes can also be ordered through the school canteen.
Meet the Teacher • We are looking forward to meeting our Kindergarten families at Meet the Teacher and Welcome BBQ night. • Tuesday 16th February • 5.00pm in your child’s classroom followed by a family BBQ. • Hope to see you there!
