Open Class Rules & Regs 1. Top three entries will receive prize money in the amounts of: $2.00 - First Place, $1.50 - Second place, $1.00 - Third Place. Stickers will be given to each exhibit. Ribbons are available upon request. 2. Judging times correspond with 4-H judging times, unless listed separately in Calendar of Events (refer to back cov- er). 3. Each project lists the max. number of entries allowed per person. This is per division (Open Class, 4-H). 4-H General Rules & Regulations 1. 4-H member must be enrolled by May 1 of the current year to exhibit in the 4-H division. Exhibitors can enter only those projects in which they are enrolled. 2. In all divisions, a rating system of awards will be used. For exhibits other than livestock, exhibits will be placed by the judges into Purple, Blue, Red and White ribbon groups. Livestock exhibits will be placed by judges into Blue, Red, and White ribbon groups. All exhibits of any one class placed in the Purple or Blue ribbon group will receive the appropriate but equal premium money. Red and White ribbon groups each will have their own premium levels. Class champion must be at least Blue ribbon quality. Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons may only be given to purple ribbon exhibits (except in the case of livestock classes – blue ribbon exhibits). The amounts of prize money apportioned will vary with the classes. Livestock going through Livestock Sale, Shooting Sports competition exhib- its, and Round Robin participants will not receive a ribbon premium. 3. All judging will be conducted by conference with individuals and judge except where scheduling conflicts exist. Ex- hibitors will make all reasonable efforts to meet for conference at the assigned time. The judge’s decision is final. 4. LIABILITY: Exhibitor ’s notice - The Fair Association will not be liable for loss or damage or personal injury aris- ing from any accidents or other cause whatever. Wabaunsee County 4-H exhibits will be designated by the official judges and Fair Management as to quality suitable for exhibition at the Kansas State Fair (KSF). 2. If you get a purple you may be eligible to show at KSF (excludes livestock). Please check with the County Extension Office to review KSF rules. You must be 9 as of January 1 of the current year, to show at KSF. 3. If project is eligible for KSF, be aware of all registration deadlines. All KSF exhibits (excluding nominated live- stock) must be pre-entered with the Extension Office during or after County Fair. All pre-entries must be filled out completely or pre-entry will be void. July 30 – All non-livestock entries, dairy goats, poultry, and rabbit entries. 4. It is the responsibility of the 4-Her and parent to read guidelines for KSF before pre-entering a project. 5. These rules and deadlines will be strictly adhered to. 6. The County Extension Staff will transport 4-H projects (no animals) to/from KSF provided they will fit in the Coun- ty Extension vehicle. They will do everything in their power to make sure they arrive in the best possible condition, but they will not be held responsible for accidents. 6
