Debrief Red Ribbon Week Ø Pros: did an amazing job publicizing!!!! The video was great (the rap) EARL…. IS APPARENTLY really good Balloons the week before was a good way to publicize Outside of ASB were involved Bringing your own stuffed animal was cute Ø Cons Hard to get people to stay in the amp
Ø Suggestions: Debrief Link Crew October Event Ø Pros: Hard to hand out candy at the start, but at the end was smooth Students were excited Ø Cons: Freshmen were intimated Ø Suggestions: YOU as a LINK LEADER should be making the first move Move the snacks/table for the movie ALL FOOD MUST BE IN THE FRIDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (rats) Debrief New LOL Ø Pros: ❏ Liked the groups that were numbered ❏ grouping by the committees ❏ SPEAKER WAS GREAT!!!!!!! ❏ Speaker’s dance moves! ❏ Got together with all the schools at the end to come up with change at home schools ❏ Got student’s info from different schools to talk about their committee ❏ The link and rally connection was great ❏ SLAM was a success ❏ Team building was more successful than previous LOL workshops ❏ Did not cost anyone money ❏ The overall vibe was good ❏ Icebreakers were good (Disney songs!, making dance moves and having someone else replicate it) ❏ You get to see how inspired schools are ❏ Inspired by other schools
Ø Cons: Ran out of veg options A lot of down time and sitting around Schools started to say the same things at the end Ran out of water Committee groups were unorganized Miscommunication for directions Repetitive SLAM Did not get to interact with other schools Hard to find people in the same committees from different schools No other Tech committees presented during SLAM (only JFK) - Earl + Naisha did not get to present Tara spoke for too long, everyone zoned out Ø Suggestions: Incorporate the speaker’s dance moves into rallies? Label all the food! More option for vegans/vegetarians Food should have been distributed by schools Get public speaker to come to JFK More icebreakers Get two schools to talk at one time to each other to share ideas and meet new people Sitting in tables instead of floor during lunch Debrief Halloween Trick Or Treat Ø Pros: A lot of candy was given out Decorations were good Good publicizing Ø Cons: People still did not get a map on School loop Teachers were still confused on what to do with the bag - No follow up with teachers Students did not know ASB was not providing bags Candy was delivered late
Last minute Planned so far in advance, that you guys forgot to follow through Ø Suggestions: Color code the teachers that are giving out the candy Link Lesson ● Pros: Kids collaborated very well Freshman said it was fun Had 9 rounds ● Cons: Small amt. Of kids in one class Kids weren't into the lesson No candy ● Suggestions: Have a variety of ideas for the activity Incorporate funny topics - Committees – JAIMIE JUST RECORD WHAT is mentioned Ø Recognition ● Post-its on lockers (“you’re doing great”) update: Planned too far in advance, but Camryn is continuing on them. (158 post its made) ● Staff room decoration Next one? Cielo’s give + staff buddy question ● Winter sports Update: ON HOLD; Amanda is asking Fall Sports to sign and give Thank You cards to coaches; supplies are here and ready to give out. ● Staff Buddy Question Update: Due today, people need to turn theirs in! Cielo will start to get the supplies for the give. After LOL, they are coming up with new give ideas: Spectrum of the Arts, Coaches, Club officers, Custodial/Janitorial. ● Stress Free Week: Breakfast Bar, Dog Therapy, Reptile Zoo - Update: Emailed back, company doesn’t do school activities Update ● November student give Update ● November Staff Give Update ● Giveaways to promote Winter dance? ● Arcade in the cafeteria ● 30 packs of gum missing: buy lock? ● Making stress balls that look like a snowball and promote winter dance ● Nov. 13th, 7 am to put up post its around school Ø Tech:
