Gathering
The Holy Spirit calls us together as the people of God

Welcome

Prelude: All Creatures of Our God and King J. Sanborn

Blessed be the holy Trinity ☩ one God,
Who, from the waters of the Earth, washed over us
and called us good.
Amen.

There is a Wisdom that goes before us,
This Wisdom weaves through all life.

There is a Love that is ancient and still unfolding,
From this Love, we are birthed,
In this Love, we are held,
To this Love, we will return.

There is a Holy Presence that embraces us eternally,
This Presence is here with us now, stirring in the waters.
Thanks be to God, rippling in the waters of Baptism, calling us by name here and now.

*Remberance of Baptism
Joined to Christ in the waters of baptism, we are clothed with God’s mercy and forgiveness. Let
us give thanks for the gift of baptism.

We give you thanks, O God, for in the beginning you created us in your image and placed us in
a well-watered garden. In the desert, you promised pools of water for the parched, and you gave
us water from the rock. When we did not know the way, you sent the Good Shepherd to lead us
to still waters. We praise you for sending Jesus your Son, who for us was baptized in the waters
of the Jordan, and was anointed as the Christ by your Holy Spirit. At the cross, you washed us
from Jesus’ wounded side, and on this day, you shower us again with the water of life.

                                                         2
We praise you for your salvation through water, for the water in this font, and for all water
everywhere.

We thank you for the Pikeview and Big Johnson Reservoirs, Quail and Prospect Lakes, Jimmy
Camp Creek and Fountain Creek, and all other life giving water we encounter in our daily lives.
May they serve as reminders of our baptisms, where your love moves over us, creating ripples
throughout time and space.

Allow us to tread in your forgiveness, grace, and love. Satisfy all who thirst, and give us the life
only you can give.

To you be given honor and praise through Jesus Christ, our living water, in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, now and forever.
Amen.

* Gathering Hymn 448 This Is the Spirit’s Entry Now

*Apostolic Greeting

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit
be with you all. And also with you.

Let us pray: (A Brief Silence is kept before the prayer.)

                                                 3
God of the turbulent and resting waters,

You anointed Jesus at his baptism with the Holy Spirit and revealed him as your
beloved Son. Keep all who are born of water and the Spirit faithful in your service,
that we may rejoice to be called children of God, through Jesus Christ, our Savior
and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and
   forever.
   Amen.

Word
God speaks to us in scripture reading, preaching, and song

First Reading Isaiah 43:1-7
Near the end of Israel’s exile in Babylon, God promises to bring the people home. They
need no longer be afraid, because the one who formed, created, and called them by name
now redeems them from all their enemies. God declares them precious and honored, and
   God loves them.

* Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus
Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he
descended to the dead On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is
seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen

                                            6

God feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ

  Offering

When circumstances surround us with grief, box us in to fear, or build up our
defenses, God turns us toward each other. Together, we find what we need to navigate
even the most precarious of times. In this spirit of collective care, let us bring what we
have with trust in the Sacred.

                                                     7

*Offering Prayer
    Blessed are you, O God,

Sovereign of the universe. You offer us new beginnings and guide us on our journey.
Lead us to your table, nourish us with this heavenly food, and prepare us to carry
your love to a hungry world, in the name of Christ our light.
    Amen.

                                          8
*The Great Thanksgiving
  The Lord be with you.
  And also with you.

  Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is indeed right, our duty and our joy. God, your invitation to come and feast in your
presence is but a taste of the love you extend to us every day. By your very nature, you
are always seeking us out – searching for ways to connect us and connect with us. You
meet us in the most ordinary of places and you make them sacred. By your grace, we
come to recognize the holiness that dwells in the world around us, in our neighbors, in
  our own internal depths.

Therefore we join our voices with your people on earth and all the company of the
heavens, singing praise to you, with all the choirs of angels, with the church on earth and
the hosts of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Blessed are you and blessed is your eternal table…
…He talked of redistributing wealth and eradicating the causes of poverty. His
commitment to practicing love knew no bounds – not even the bounds of death.
                                            9
In the night in which he was betrayed,…

…In remembrance of all you have done to save us,
we proclaim the mystery of our faith:

  Christ has died.
  Christ is risen.
  Christ will come again.

Pour out your Spirit on these gifts, O God. Make these ordinary elements into the Sacred
gift of your presence with us once again. May they awaken us anew to your everlasting
invitation into a life of resurrection. Aliven us in our pursuit of a world where all needs
are met, power is balanced, and the worth of every creature and creation is celebrated.
In collective longing for a taste of your Kindom on earth,
we join together in echoing the prayer of Jesus:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be
done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we
forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from
evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Christ and rich in compassion, commitment, courage, and care. Amen.

*Blessing
God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world

Hold you close in your storm.
May the God of calm and still waters,
☩ Guide you along your way.
  Amen.
