We say thanks Amy Brown On this day, I wish to thank my mother and children. I am humbled, mom, by the care and support you’ve given me over the years. Thank you for instilling me with a passion for learning and for doing everything possible to put me on the path to success. I will never forget the important values you have passed down to me—particularly hard work and perseverance. To my boys: you are my most precious possession and biggest blessing in my life. You too have made sacrifices and I want to express my sincerest gratitude to you. I love you! Callie Bushong Thank you does not even come close to what I owe my family. They have been my biggest cheerleaders encouraging me every step along the way and giving me the strength, I needed. These last three years have had many hurdles and surprises, but they were always there for me. Thank you to Chris for supporting me and giving me words of encouragement I needed, without you I would not have survived. Thank you to my parents for always believing in me, especially when I didn’t even believe in myself. Thank you for helping me in this journey. Heather Calkins I want to thank the entirety of my wonderful family for their support and love throughout my educational pursuits – The road here would’ve been much more difficult without each of you. Goshen College Core Values Christ-Centeredness For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 3:11 Passionate Learning For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self- control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. II Peter 1:5-8 Servant Leadership But whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of [God] came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Matthew 20:26-28 Compassionate Peacemaking Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Matthew 5:9 Global Citizenship All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. II Corinthians 5:18-20
