Friday 3rd April 2020 Food, glorious food! Our fantastic wellbeing team have been working hard to put together packages for staff. The team are liaising with local companies who have been very generous with food donations. They plan to do several food drops a week, starting with the ‘red zones’ before expanding to other areas of the hospitals . Food donations are being collected at the Kaizen Space in St Mary’s Hall at RSCH to minimise the number of people walking through Medical student volunteers delivering food packages the hospitals. We are so grateful for these to staff at RSCH and PRH generous offers but please do not encourage members of the public to enter the hospitals to deliver food as we are currently restricting all visits to the hospitals to protect our staff and patients. If you order food, please arrange for collection offsite. Whilst offers of home cooked food from members of the public are very generous, we have no way of assuring they meet the food hygiene or dietary requirements of our staff. In the interest of keeping our staff healthy and safe, please do not accept offers directly, but refer them to the team at bsuh.donate@nhs.net who can coordinate their donation in a safe and effective way. To support our staff over the coming weeks we are also encouraging donations at http://www.helpbsuhhospitals.org.uk/page. This will ensure we can provide the right support for staff welfare at the right time. A delivery from the Albion Staff from Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club and their associated charity Albion in the Community packaged up and delivered food and drinks to the Trust this week. The food and drinks came from The Amex and would have been used in the various kiosks throughout the stadium for the postponed matches against Arsenal and Manchester United. The club donated the goodies for staff to take during their breaks on busy shifts. Videos from Brighton and Hove Albion FC - Players from Brighton and Hove Albion FC have kindly offered to make personalised videos for NHS staff members’ children who may not be seeing their parents as much as they’d like due to their increased workload. If you would like a video for your child please send us: your child’s name and age, your role and a mobile number to which the video can then be forwarded to - Email: footballmessages@gmail.com
