Lord’s Day Worship GOD INVITES US TO WORSHIP HIM *CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 23 Elder Hugh Comer Leader: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. People: He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. Leader: He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. People: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; Leader: Your rod, and your staff, they comfort me. People: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Leader: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, People: And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. *SONG PRAISE TO THE LORD ALMIGHTY 1 Praise to the Lord the Almighty, The King of creation! O my soul, praise Him, For He is thy health and salvation! All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near; Praise Him in glad adoration. 2 Praise to the Lord, Who o’er all things So wondrously reigneth, Shelters thee under His wings, Yea, so gently sustaineth! Hast thou not seen how all your longings have been Granted in what He ordaineth? 3 Praise to the Lord, Who doth prosper Thy work and defend thee; Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee. Ponder anew what the Almighty can do, If with His love He befriend thee.
4 Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him! All that hath life and breath, Come now with praises before Him. Let the Amen sound from His people again, Gladly for aye we adore Him! ©Public Domain *PRAYER OF ADORATION (CONCLUDING WITH THE LORD’S PRAYER) Elder Billy Hollingsworth Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Hebrews 12:1-2 People of God, what do you believe? Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. GOD CLEANSES US FROM OUR SIN CONFESSION OF SIN Romans 7: 18-19 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. SILENT CONFESSION ASSURANCE OF PARDON Romans 8: 1-2 There is, therefore, now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
*SONG GOD, BE MERCIFUL TO ME 1 God, be merciful to me; On Thy grace I rest my plea. Plenteous in compassion Thou, Blot out my transgressions now; Was me, make me pure within; Cleanse, O cleanse me from my sin. 2 My transgressions I confess; Grief and guilt my soul oppress. I have sinned against Thy grace, I confess Thy judgement just; Speechless, I Thy mercy trust. 3 I am evil, born in sin; Thou desirest truth within. Thou alone my Savior art, Teach Thy wisdom to my heart; Make me pure, Thy grace bestow, Wash me whiter than the snow. 4 Broken, humbled to the dust By Thy wrath and judgement just, Let my contrite heart rejoice, And in gladness hear Thy voice; From my sins O hide Thy face, Blot them out in boundless grace. 5 Gracious God, my heart renew, Make my spirit right and true. Cast me not away from Thee, Let Thy Spirit dwell in me; Thy salvation’s joy impart, Steadfast make my willing heart. 6 Sinners then shall learn from me, And return, O God, to Thee. Savior all my guilt remove, And my tongue shall sing Thy love Touch my silent lips, O Lord, And my mouth shall praise accord. © 1997 Christopher Miner Music.
PASTORAL PRAYER Elder Hugh Comer GOD FEEDS US FROM HIS WORD *BIBLE READING Mark 8: 11-9:1 (NIV) Leader: The Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God! SERMON Mr. Mark Husband “Like Trees Walking” *SONG MY JESUS, I LOVE THEE 1 My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine; For Thee all the follies of sin I resign. My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ‘tis now. 2 I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me, And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree. I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus ‘tis now. 3 I’ll love Thee in life, and I’ll love Thee in death, I’ll praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath; And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow, If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus ‘tis now. 4 In mansions of glory and endless delight, I’ll ever adore Thee in Heaven so bright; And sing with the glittering crown on my brow; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus ‘tis now. © Public Domain

Amen. DOXOLOGY/DISMISSAL Praise God from Whom all blessings flow, Praise Him all creatures here below, Praise Him above ye heavenly host, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
